techer is generally snuggled up in the top deep corner of a map, i used this position to show the opening without trees.

Nice teching- If I had watched this a long time ago, I could have greatly optimized my teching much earlier- I was able to get a sub 5 tech with 3 metal spots using the help of wind on an average speed map+ a rez/reclaim bot to reclaim my commander more effectively; Also, I completely ditched the storage to save a bit of resources, but that made it quite a bit more difficult to keep overflow under check. I would recommend a hybrid economy if possible, but if not, this is a solid tech. For going t3, Rather than reclaiming my main initial energy producer (Wind) I only reclaim the 2 solar collectors for free metal and have enough energy to make all the metal spots and make the fusion with sufficient energy, even with multiple nanos. For fun, I did a full tech and speedran a juggernaut which I was able to get in under 20 mins- but only with 2 AFus- I may have to test whether 3 AFus are more effective for quickly pumping out a juggernaut (Not practical, unfortunately)

This is a teching guide. Usually there are one or two techers per 8 man team; which means you would have 6-7 teammates protecting you from getting rushed.

I'm a new player, but pretty sure you usually would get attacked at this point without any units on the field that's pretty tough

Ello there mooham. Yes, you're quite right about that (unless you're playing backline eco in a team game and your frontline players manage to deftly avoid any leaks of enemy ground/air units coming to scout and pop your economy), but this is more a demonstration of how to avoid stalling or excessing resources, how to tech up without using wind (for when that's appropriate), how much buildpower you can afford to invest in for a given size of economy, the value of reclaiming metal from your buildings to put it back into more efficient (but expensive) power generation and metal production, as well as the value of reclaiming aaalmost all of your your commander's body for that extra early-game metal (whilst keeping his some on his body so he can be ressurected later as LSR touched upon). If you attempted this in a 1 v 1 then yes, you're going to have a real bad time, 100%, but you wouldn't attempt this in that context. Hope you're having a great time learning the wonders of BAR!
