Beyer-Garratt 6029 in the Central Coast; THNSW Gosford Steam Shuttles July 2024 [4K]

On the 6th & 7th July 2024 Transport Heritage NSW visited the Central Coast for a series of steam shuttles between Gosford and Hawksbury River. Beyer-Garratt 6029 and diesel locomotive 4201 operated five sold-out trips each day, with the Garratt leading towards Gosford. In this video we see the shuttles at various locations along the Main Northern Line including Woy Woy, Wondabyne, arriving and departing Hawksbury River (with an awesome distant departure shot with the river in the foreground), Gosford, Koolewong, Tascot, and Point Clare.

I love going out to see the Garratt, its become one of my favourite steam locomotives.

I consider this to be a birthday present to myself seeing that this was filmed on my birthday. Happy birthday to me. I love going to NSW to see the Garratt; there's no other steam locomotive quite like it in terms of sheer scale and its haunting low whistle; I love it! Plus it meant I got to avoid the chaos of the Glen Waverley shuttles with delayed trains and falling tripods :p
