Answer it like Mrs. Doubtfire: Scream into the receiver and yell at some imaginary kid to get back in their cage before you beat them.

It's kinda simple. Don't /ever/ say the word 'yes' on the phone.

I let the message go to voicemail, then block the number. My advice is on most phones have a device to verify a number. Most times they use either a satellite or autodial device to mask the real phone number they are calling from.

I won't have a cell and I've screened all my land line calls since 1980. No problems.

This is a relevant from the video, but one thing that happened to me was I got a voicemail from an unknown number because I wasn’t home, and I didn’t have my phone, and basically, there was a voicemail for someone else it was wrong number. The voicemail was about someone having foot fungus .

I'm trying to figure out in what universe a 'yes' causes a utility or credit card or other account to be charged and is used as proof of identity/owner of an account. I suppose it could be like "Do you accept the charges" from say a collect call and make a charge on the phone bill but to access my bank or other utility accounts? I don't see how a 'yes' proves the account owner, and if they 'purloined' my credit card, I don't recall ever having to say 'yes' to use my credit card, if they already have the info then there is nothing stopping them from making charges to it.

Michael Dubrovsky, The scammer can splice one's recorded "yes" answer to a recorded question asking permission or confirmation to make a purchase or to allow charges. Variations of this scam have been around for as long as there has been telephone recording technology. Until the law is changed to make digital signatures and verbal telephone agreements much harder to enforce, these and similar scams will not go away.

It doesn't matter if you know the number because phone numbers can be easily spoofed to look like the IRS, your bank, ect.

In this youtube they're talking about you can do this and you can't do that. What they're not talking about is more important. What's more important is that if the scammer record your voice and uses it in the commission of a crime it instantly goes to the federal level. The reason why is the scammer is engaging In federal wire tapping laws. A charge of unlawful wire tapping is a very serious federal crime. It doesn't matter if you give permission or not to have your voice recorded. It's been done in an unlawful way. It is really entertaining how some of these youtube Clips Address that which scares people. People that are scared are people that are not educated or rational. Nobody has to take this kind of kaka from any mf'er.
