Beware! Fake Silver Coin... Fake Maple! How to Detect Fake silver?
I got this fake Canadian mapple silver coin from my friend. I'm going to do some test and physical examination. The weight is almost the same as the original coin. However they need to do more touch up on the details of the coin. Good way to share knowledge with you guys.

Your phone was too close to the scale, that's why you're getting some weird readings
i just got a roll of these and all the details checks out but the thickness is less than 3.29mm. Should i be worried?

On the bottom of the coin where it says "fine silver 1 oz" the 1 looks different as well. These fakes have been circulating around for years but they are easy to spot.

The fake is a whopping 3% below spec in weight. With practice you'd be able to feel the difference and not even have to use a scale.
