This movie was a fun watch. It follows the standard 80s movie formula to a T. Even kept the 80s music throughout the entire movie. The movie was fine. Not sure why people were expecting more.🤷‍♂️😂

I had fun with this movie. But, it would have been so cool if, as a twist, Kevin Bacon was not the bad guy. He was so obvious he was dirty from the instant he was introduced.

This is like that Die Hard in Russia movie. I also think this movie would have been better served if Axel and Jane were very close. Axel’s personality makes no sense being distant from his child seeing how this whole franchise started with him avenging a two bit hustler friend.

There's a trend in a LOT of movies where the relationship between a father and his kids is strained. There can never be a close relationship between parent and child in these movies for some strange reason.

It doesnt matter which actress played his daughter. Its the writing and directing that forms the portrayal of a character. Keke wouldnt have made that much of a difference if the writing and directing remained the same. Most of the crtiticisms of this movie rests soley on the script and the directing, not the actors.

I appreciated this movie because it's part of the beloved franchise that I grew up watching and I can still watch the first and second Beverly Hills cop over and over. I had high hopes for this movie, however, the writing completely missed Mark. Where did the daughter come from and why were they so strange. It wasn't properly addressed and it was a huge distraction. Who is axel Foley today. What is his point of view. No one is going to address his age at all? He clearly is not the street smart slick talker he used to be. His demeanor seems more like the Eddie Murphy from Dr. Dolittle. It was not believable as the street smart cop who could trick anyone with his wiles. I was so confused at who this character was. He's not the same. They should've addressed that and had him have a point of view. Was he trying to recapture his youth? Was he an older guy with swag? I mean Samuel Jackson could've played the part better than Eddie Murphy at this point. Because this Eddie Murphy is so suburban and out of touch with this character at this point. For him to play a street smart cop he needed to have a Director and a writer that would get him back in the same mindset. It just didn't happen for me. So this movie was goofy and not believable. And the plot super obvious so we all figured it out in the first 20 minutes. So I guess this was pretty much a labor of love and done for fun. Obviously the budgets are not the same so you can't expect the same level of quality as the first two, but I would've hoped they would've had better writers to have Eddie Murphy be believable. Then to give him a contrived conflict with the daughter who we've never heard of, and have that relationship attempt to work itself out throughout this movie, just did not make sense. The Axel Foley that I knew would have never abandoned his daughter. The dude had integrity. He flew to cali because captain bogamil was injured. He convinced the guys to investigate the alphabet crimes. Now he’s a goofy dude who abandoned his only daughter. How dumb and awful. Tyler Perry has enough of this trope owe didn’t need it here. Who TF wrote this. Disappointed.

Not better than the 3rd. I laughed more in the third. Rosewood was actually in the movie more. Dont understand the hate for part 3. Axel F is vehicle action focused where Axel is in a vehicle for every action scene. Fake CG bullet hits and CG blood. Padded out too long with unnecessary plot lines. Needed to be 20min shorter. Its ok for Memeber Berries but will sit as 4th best for me

For what it's worth I don't think this movie is avoiding any mention of police brutality re: the Black community because of "the white creatives" but because Eddie Murphy has always shied away from any hard hitting issues related to race in his movies (outside of his stand-up routines back in the 80s)
