I am taking a break from my travels. to bring you another cool product review!! when I am not traveling I like to relax and lounge around at home, what better way to relax than with a cocktail!!
You may have heard me say that before and the answer is yes. 2 years ago I reviewed the #Bartesian and it was. a game changer, well 2 years later Black and Decker has joined the game of automated drink cocktail machines, however are they truly re inventing the wheel? or just improving on an already great product. the BEV by Black + Decker utilizes Bartesian pods, so while A new machine is here they are still dependent on the success of Bartesian in order for the machine to function, and that is what I love about this product, its not competition, its more of a compliment! better together!!

There’s barcodes on the capsules. There is a barcode reader under the lid that scans which mixer is loaded. That’s how the machine knows which alcohol to dispense. By reading the barcode

Just got mine and extremely happy with the purchase 👏🏾🥃🍹🍸oh yeah
One other thing that I do like about the BEV verses the Bartesian, is that you can display all 5 bottles instead of 4 and not having to switch out one when it calls for gin or rum. That eliminates some spilling.

I love my new Bev. I've had my Bartesian for about a month and experienced leaks so far the Bev gets a 👍🏾

For the low ball glass - check out the fold down shelf to hold it up closer to the dispenser.

What if you dont want the mixer and just vodka?
I don't know much about liquor, but that drink looks like it could've used a quick stir of some sort. Should it be separated like that?

no it shouldn't and that's the biggest problem with this unit. it doesn't actually mix any of the beverages.

Apparently all the drinks are the same size. What size? 12oz Highball? 8oz Highball? etc...
would be interested to trial one for my lodge during our upcoming ski season in Japan however not available here :(

What about a woodford reserve bottle? More of a wider bottle
What do you do when the Black & Decker does not pull the alcohol? It only released the pod

Angel! Hi, It says that I am supposed to rinse after each drink. I cannot find anything on how to do that. I just see the cleaning cycle for each month in the directions but not after each drink? How is this supposed to happen? Thanks

I'm quessing the "rinse" is when the water comes out last.
So is each spot designated for a specific liquor. I get the part of the pods have barcodes but how does the machine know which liquor is which?

Hey Cindy, each spot is designated so the machine knows where to pull the liquor from. They are labeled on the machine.

I was really disappointed with the pods. Especially the "sex on the beach". Looked like mud, tasted like mud and looked nothing like the box. Plus, i didn't get much into my glass like what i see you got. I'm now finding that it's hard to find pods. Nothing is available anywhere. Making me think that maybe this product is about to go bye bye. I sure hope not, i really like the machine and would like to try more drinks.
people got more money than brains...

Disagree, I make drinks and honestly, sometimes you want a specific drink and need the ingredients or you buy the ingredients but they go bad after a few days, so this is excellent to have for when you want a certain drink or drinks without having to buy a dozen ingredients that go bad after a few days. It's also somewhat of a toy for some of us!!!
