Between the Straits | Bill Cloud | Jacobs Tent

Ойын-сауық

In Hebrew, “in dire straits” is bein ha’metzarim - “between the straits.” The 17th of Tammuz initiates a three-week period called bein ha’metzarim. This three-week period culminates on the 9th of Av which commemorates the destruction of the Temple. Therefore, Rabbinical Judaism believes that, on this day, all of Israel enters into a very precarious time of being squeezed “between the straits.” Passing between the straits is potentially dangerous and all measures must be taken to ensure safe passage. It is important to make wise decisions everyday but especially if the hazards are accentuated. Not that we are being superstitious but being prudent by learning of the past can at times keep us from repeating past mistakes. To be tried doesn’t mean to be destroyed; it means to be proven. Crisis doesn’t make the man; it reveals the man. If commemorating events that led to the destruction of the Temple is important, then we must also consider the aftermath. The Gospel went out from Jerusalem to the rest of the world and that through tragedy, wonderful things came forth because of it.
If you are enjoying this live stream, PLEASE consider sending in an offering, tithe, or donation to help us continue spread the gospel free from Jacob's Tent.

Bill, surely your message tonight from Yahweh (Between the Straits) is confirmation of what He showed (posted recently in comment): "Standing in a huge gym with a concrete wall behind (my) back. Hard fastballs, incoming from every angle, hit the concrete wall and ricochet harder and faster back in the direction from which they emminated; while (I) stand amazed, unmoving." This motion picture is for all who will hear His Voice. HE will navigate. WE stand still in awe. HE GETS THE GLORY! (Note: A small group in the gym were returning fire at an enemy not in view, to no apparent avail.) Also, Sir, I reiterate and underscore what another JT member stated following your message: (my) Deepest appreciation, respect, love and sincere gratitude for your continued obedience and vulnerability in allowing our Father to Speak freely and unhampered through you to His people. Like The True Shepherd, your acquiescence affects/affords and even assures our safety, providing we heed. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."

Excellent teaching!! I have deleted the majority of KZread pastors. I have unfollowed countless pastors and worship leaders etc. I am totally understanding the power of the voice to bewitch you or lead you to truth. I understand the Bread of His Presence vs wicked bread, tents of righteousness vs tents of wickedness, mixed seed vs good seed, clean hands vs dirty hands, etc.i wish I could rewind and change who I was listening to etc. I could have avoided so much. Thank you!!!

Amen! This is such good encouragement to me. My family and I are in a narrow place, between straits, learning how to stand and battle as a family through these narrow places is hard, overwhelming and is challenging my emotions but also helping me see how to control them. Holy Spirit was saying to me these places may seem narrow and hard but they are a place of protection and grace. Thank You Bill!

I was thinking about what you said concerning the Jewish people mourning the loss of their temple even though they have synagogues. If people lost all their churches here in America, how would they feel?? Loss or mourning etc. I understand the importance of our personal temple but there was a time that I thought the church building was more important. I don't anymore but I understand the Jews having to leave their homes etc because of persecution and hate etc. I understand why God separated them from other people so they would not be bewitched etc. Just thinking...my opinion.

Fyi I have learned that I cannot eat food made with unclean hands at a restaurant or by my family. I can eat my own food cuz my hands are clean. I realize why people lose their way or make mistakes. As far as kosher dietary laws I do not eat pig or shellfish since 2006 but it was not enough. I am learning...
