Here's how I think the "A" scene would have been portrayed with an "'E' on the end" principle... Sergeant Mark: (After the usual opening line for "A" and stating the long and short sounds) Absolutely. But, what if you become ambushed by an "H" and a "T"? State your sound, soldier! (He says his short sound and sir) And the word?! (He says "Hat, sir!") That's right. But! What if an "E" sneaks up on the "T" as quiet as a mouse? What's the drill, soldiers?! (The other vowels sing "When 'E' on the end plays a no-talking game, the vowel before it says its name!") Exactly. So what do you sound like now, Private "A"? (He says his long sound and sir) WORD!! (He says "Hate, sir!") Correct. I tip my hat to you, Private "A". (The ending "Let's go make some words!" line happens) Well? How is this to show an "'E' on the end" variation for "A"? Good or what?

I'm 100% mexican and this show is the reason i can speak America English like a southerner and a minasoten or Californian....my spanish accent quit after a few episodes of this show
