    Lmao! Priest is BACK???? With 1 original member(K.K.) with Les who was in the band for a year and a half? And without Rob Halford with Tim Owens who sang on those 2 albums ...and the Priest is back huh.... meanwhile the real Judas Priest who consist of Robert John Aurther Halford THE METAL GOD and the best vocalist in the world,the iconic Ian Hill on bass,Scott Travis who's been in the band since 1989 that's 31 years with Ritchie Faulkner who's been in the band for almost a decade now are proudly supporting FIREPOWER Judas Priest's highest charting album since Screaming For Vengeance and apparently 95% of Judas Priest's fan base agree how great it is. You have fun with The kk cover band.

    Because K.K. Said over and over and over and over in the press that he wouldn't go back to Priest. He even said in an interview that the only way he'd do it was if it was for a Judas Priest/Iron Maiden/Black Sabbath tour. So then when stuff happened with Glenn all of a sudden he was like "why didn't they ask me?". If a girl dumped you and told everyone you knew that she'd never go out with you again would you then call her up after things didn't work out with another girl and ask her out again? Ian Hill even said ' “He retired seven years ago and at the time made it clear that he did not want to go back.” “So I’m surprised he was shocked at not being invited. It’s as if the quarterback of his team retired and the guy who replaced him was injured two or three years later. You’re not going to invite the guy who just retired. You’ll find someone else. It’s the same situation."

    @@Gregbaltzer I am sure that there is even more to this story. I mean, it seemed to be a really falling out for KK to depart that quickly after being a key member since their existence. Being that he still has the chops, I believe he will re-unite with Priest at some point.

  • @Gregbaltzer

    @Gregbaltzer

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@crazeyjoe If you read K.K.'s book. K.K. wrote his letter of resignation back in 1991 because he was tired of management and Glenn being a control freak. It was a long time coming according to K.K. What finally did it for him was how much he really liked the Nostrodomus album and he felt in today's music climate fans don't devour albums like they used to when he was a kid, they spin it a couple times and then move on. He was disappointed that the album didn't get the attention he felt it deserved from fans. He also felt the bands performance live was diminishing. Glenn, for obvious reasons, wasn't performing the way he used to, and Rob was using a teleprompter. He just felt the timing was right. The whole management/Glenn issue was something he was tired of dealing with.

  • @crazeyjoe

    @crazeyjoe

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@Gregbaltzer I haven't yet read the book. I understand the whole "control freak" of bands nature and how it will rub band mates wrong. I am not sure if JP has the same band management as when he resigned. If that has changed, that is one encouraging point. I am not sure how much of a say Glenn has at this point going forward. I know he is still an official member of the band and occasionally makes an appearance. As far as Rob requiring a teleprompter, he is getting up there in age. That doesn't mean that Rob needs to read every line of every song he performs. It is more or less there for those times when a "brain cramp" happens in order to get back on track. Hell there are singers younger than Rob that uses them. As far as the release of Nostradamus and albums of today, unfortunately, it is the world that we now live in. So, I suppose we shall see what happens with the future of JP!

  • @Gregbaltzer

    @Gregbaltzer

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@crazeyjoe Originally I heard Bruce Dickenson criticizing Rob for the teleprompter. I honestly thought it was Rob's way of concentrating on his vocal performance and then K.K. mentioned the teleprompter too. Shit happens I guess. I think part of the problem is that there's so much music to digest now that it's hard to give albums the attention they deserve. That's why I've been slowing down on getting albums, because I realized I was buying CDs listening to them a couple times, more if I really liked it instantly, then putting it on a shelf. And when you're a band that's 20-30 years into your career you're always going to have a ton of records to choose from. Firepower is a good album, but when I want to listen to Priest I still grab for their classic albums. That's just the way it is. I tend to go back to what is familiar to me. Every band has a "classic era" where they were at their peak. And nothing they do after that ever quite lives up to it. I really liked the last Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax albums BUT is stopped listening to them almost instantly and went back to their classic era stuff. Just the way it is.

    Ripper's voice is always too loud. The vocal is the cheerleader of a rock and roll band, not the main attraction. Halford got that.

    I love Ripper more than most, but Ripper at 50 sounds like Robbo at 60. That said, he still sounds better than 99.999999999999% of humans to have ever lived, so it doesn't really matter.
