God I love her! So sorry she's gone. Had to happen eventually. What a beauty she was, inside and out!

It’s insane to think she really was in the entertainment industry from the start of television. When she did this interview in 1977, she had already been a well known actress for more than 30 years. So much experience and wisdom, but always had a down to earth attitude the whole time. RIP Betty 😔

I had the distinct honor of meeting Betty White in Hollywood in October 2013. She is pictured in my profile picture with me and my guide dog Jingles and Pauley Perrette. Jingles was the 2013 American Humane Hero Guide Dog of the Year and we traveled from New York to Hollywood to accept the Award, presented by Betty. An experience I will treasure for a lifetime! Betty showed me such kindness and was so genuine.

Johnny Carson and Betty White gosh what legends, television will never me the same. 😢

Pretty cool to realize that, at 55, Betty was hardly halfway through her life ❤ the world has been so blessed all these years!

We lost an awesome lady today. Rest in peace, Betty White.

I never fully appreciated how smooth and humble Johnny was til I started watching all these years later.

Man she had one of the craziest careers. He is talking to her as a legend here and Golden Girls was still 8 years away

You can tell that Johnny isn't interviewing Betty here. He's simply talking to an old friend whom he obviously greatly appreciates and admires.

This is why we all laid in bed in the dark every night to watch The Tonight Show. Warm, intimate moments like this. I miss the hell out of this show. Carson was the greatest.✌

She is 99 as of March 2021 and born January 17, 1922. A true star.

Her husban Allen Lud . Passed when I was 13 or 14 yrs old . Betty . Is a special Lady Hope she out does Grocho marxs and Bob Hope .. Bet she Does .

Betty White was probably the closest thing we will ever have to a Queen in this country in terms of how she was regarded and revered by so many people. She just had a regal presence about her that can't be taught.

She was SUCH a beautiful woman all throughout her life. She was also very caring, gentle, and kind, and WHAT a sense of humor she had. A VERY special human being. Thanks Betty. Rest In Paradise Sweet Lady.❤🕯❤

And she had no idea that one of her greatest successes, The Golden Girls would be years away. She was 55 here (almost 56) and still looked great. Incredible!

I always enjoyed Johnny's timing and easy manner and to see him here with the kindest true legend of entertainment Betty White is good for the soul.

Johnny Carson's as respectful to Betty White as he was to any guest - male or female - in 30 years of the Tonight Show. He understood her greatness as an actress & as a human being.

Two wonderful celebrities! I watched Johnny Carson every night before I went to bed. It felt so good to go to bed with a smile on my face. Betty White is a treasure. Her love of life keeps her young at heart.

She's always been so beautiful. A very special lady.🌹

When I was a kid growing up in the 60s I thought of Betty White only as a game show contestant and hosting New Year’s day’s Parades. But that all changed in the 70s when she got the part of Sue Ann Nivens on the Mary Tyler Moore show. And now she is a show business legend. 99 years old and still growing strong.

Johnny Carson loved admired respected Betty white like no other

That joke of having a huge celebrity visiting a character's party but you never seen them, just hear their voice in the dark as the power goes out sounds like something that would still get a great reaction nowadays.

Isn't that great, a talk show where people talk instead of always looking for a cheap laugh. Today's talk shows, if you can call them that, are unwatchable.

I love Betty White. Her role on Mary Tyler Moore was endearing.

This is a real talk show. Not the other late night talk show phonies nowadays

great conversation.. i wouldn't call it an interview with a guest... great respect between them all... even betty mentioning her show got axed ... just shows the mutual respect they have for each other and they know the business... it's tough

Johnny's tonight show was like watching a good baseball game...not the manic late night shows we have now.

She was so with it and on top of her game until her 90's. I hope I'm half that mentally quick when I'm that old.

I didn’t know there was a Betty White Show. A few years later the Golden Girls. I first saw her on the Carol Burnett Show in the family sketches.

The actors and actresses who got their chops on stage or live TV were very talented people.
