Yui is a sneakily good unit. Her kit is pretty tame but her NP has some amazing scalability with certain units. She absolutely is non-essential but there's nothing bad about what she brings to the table. Still I wonder why they went for yet another Arts support for her? What do you guys think? Ironically she does better in Quick teams cause Summer Skadi can provide both Quick and Buster up while Yui provides Arts so her NP gives all of the benefits it can.

I think her arts buff is deceptively beneficial to Quick. Because Quick uses Summer Skadi, your DPS will innately have the other 2 buffs already. This means that quick can very easily get the full benefits of her NP. It will also help those quick units if they are using mighty chains, which work better on Quick than the other card types. Its not perfect by any means, but I do think there was more thought put into her design than just making her arts

I was about to say that! Yui's kit enables the full potential of her NP, and Arts is tied to critical damage up. It's better to see her as a crit support (which is indeed very viable for Quick units) and a secondary NP support. Ironically that makes her Arts buff very good for Ushi-gozen.

I find it wild that Yui has better buff numbers than Crane when paired with Summer Skadi. If Yui had a cycle mechanic, she'd be insane.

Ushi Gozen has a hybrid Buster and Quick buff, so Yui has to have an Arts buff so that Ushi can get more crit damage. Plus, Yui has 3 Arts cards that she'll probably need to get to her NP as much as possible in longer fights. DPS Yui could be a decent emergency meme strategy like DPS Waver is for those scuffed runs.

iyori also has buster and quick buffs making her the perfect support for him as well. a team of iyori as st dps, gozen as star provider and wave clear/crit dps and yui as support is surprisingly not a bad thing.

I actually don't mind the selfish survival skill *that* much, since she's way more of an offensive support. I think that it's going to be more useful than it appears at first. Especially when you consider that a DPS, a support, and rotating buffers or backup DPS is a typical challenge fight build. Yui might be that unit that stays alive with the DPS, healing them and giving them offensive buffs the whole time. I have a hard time seeing it as a flaw, unless you are also pairing her with other premium supports like a Castoria or Merlin. If you are using lesser things, then you probably appreciate the selfish survival a little more. At least that's how it strikes me. Until I try to use her with Ushiwakamaru or Taiga in a hard fight, I probably won't know exactly how I feel about her kit.

The selfishness of the first skill isn't a problem, its just a point at which they could have made her a more robust support. It's understandable that they didn't go further with it due to her being 4 star though.

While Yui does buff Iori with all her NP effects, I don't think you should use her over Double Koyan + Oberon with Iori because he has the right number of CD and being able to guarantee ramping up his NP 3 times is worth more for his performance. I find that for Yui, pairing her with Summer Skadi will let her buff anyone you use as the attacker so that makes her more valuable as a Quick Servant support. In CQ or boss fight, a Yui with Kaleidoscope to let her use her NP at least 2 times or more can potentially be a more powerful buffer than even the meta supports

Her skills only provide a 60 percent damage buff split between arts buff and np damage from her skills. However if you have buster and quick on you’ll get 40 percent damage buff split between attack and np damage. Could go well if you use Helena’s rainbow buff on Rider da Vinci then switch caster for Yui.

Yeah you're really going to want to use her with units that have tricolor buffs due to her np.

I completely agree about her being an Arts unit; frankly, whenever I see a new Arts unit I immediately lose 90% of my interest. It's boring. And I am thoroughly convinced someone high up at Lasagna loves Arts and hates Quick. It's the same reason I think they gave Ushi Gozen a 50% block; why they gave Summer Skadi a block 50%; why they refuse to give Quick units any other options. In Yui's case, my main gripe is that her targetable Arts buff is a targetable Arts buff. If everything else was left the same, that Arts buff should have been "pick Arts, Buster, or Quick" at minimum. If they did want to make her Quick-centric, that 30% battery should have been targetable, and I agree the first skill should also have been targetable. Maybe that would make her qualify as a 5-star; at this point, I'll take that over the alternative. Unfortunately we got the alternative.

Wanna try her out as a solo but Lasangle personally chose the worst mats for me to up her, most of them are not on the event shop for some reason too...

Of course she is better. Did you saw her 1st ascension? Thanks to that she went from 'decent character' to 'hot homonculussy'. xD

The first thing I thought when I looked at Yui was: "What the hell is wrong with her hands!?" Seriously, her 2nd and final art are fine but look at her right hand in her 1st form and both her hands in 3rd form, they just look terrible, they look like something an AI would draw, especially the right hand of her 1st from the pinky is practically detached from her hand. I'm surprised more people haven't said anything about that.
