I been telling people this way before the portal came out and a lot of people already knew it’s just Sony trying to get more $ out of u for something that just looks nice but has no real value

@@millerboi5048 I forgot they started charging for a subscription because I was lucky enough to get one before that happened so that makes sense depending on how u plan on using it but I just use it when I’m in the bed or away from home otherwise I’m playing on the systems themselves and I have very few lag issues even when I’m away and that was mostly when I first bought it

14:58 so yeah you can connect a controller to your iPad but I just don’t want to have to grab a controller, iPad and then connect to ps5 and to phone or iPad. I just want it to all be super quick and easy and one device

I really like play on my ps4 with touch controls, but with backbone, it could be so awesome (I never tried it before)

My guy the PlayStation portal will come with better software updates. The backbone connection with an iPhone the battery will die and get notifications. 😮

Fair enough . But the iPhone , you could turn on focus mode to prevent notifications. And Whatchu mean software updates. What’s it’s gonna update ? A way to stream games faster ? 😂 I’m just saying the portal could be so much better if it were an updates PS vita . But no . It’s only a device that streams games that is also being sold for twice the price in certain countries

Sadly they haven’t at the moment. It’s a huge difference . Hopefully they’ll update it soon . Or you could could get the backbone slim phone case to accommodate the lack of space . playbackbone.com/my/products/iphone-gaming-case/

But with this device you get a smaller screen, controllers don’t feel as good, no haptic feedback and all the good stuff that the PlayStation duelshock controllers can do and you have to always find the back bone controllers and attach them so that’s an inconvenience itself. So personally I’d rather have the portal for all the reasons I listed. Oh and also I heard the portal is faster at booting up so like you just connect to your ps5. I heard with the back bone you have to connect your ps5 to it. Rather then how the portal you can just find your nearby ps5

Portal 8” 1080p screen -that’s it. Updated BB is way better on the go, always have your phone anyway. With Portal now you have to take TWO devices. iPhone 15 Pro Max screen bests Portal display. iPhone plays AAA games like RE 4, Village + more coming. Portal NEEDS PS5. No contest BB>Portal.

As gamers were begging for an updated Vita after seeing Nintendo bossing the handheld category for years . Trust me , if vita had proper support from devs and Sony , it would be without a doubt the best handheld ever . With Valve , Asus and even Lenovo now coming up with their own versions , it’s a no brainer for Sony to enter the market again . It used to work when I first got it, then it just stopped..

For streaming PS5 games the portal is better then using a phone or tablet. Some ppl dont use their phone for gaming and the backbone features are locked behind a subscription and IOS users have to pay just to use backbone at leats Android ppl can use it without paying. So its really $135 and $30 year after that. Nowbif you like thats cool byt the portal is better my guy.

I want to say the portal is for kids like my daughter or my nephew who don't have a phone of their own, but like to play away from the TV, My Daughter plays Goat Simulator on my Vita through remote play all the time. On the other hand though, I can get a cheapish android phone + backbone for around the same price as a portal and still have the ability to play controller supported games as well as be able to emulate Dreamcast, PSP and any other less powerful console on said cheapish phone...

A cheaper phone still around $100 plus the $100 still $200. The portal is doing remote play better then the phone and/or tablet plylus it's ridiculously more comfortable then backbone. Also the backbone features are locked behind a subscription..

But you’re paying $200 for remote play . Take away WiFi , and it’s useless The backbone costs peanuts compared to that . And it does more without the subscription .

@@millerboi5048 It doesnt do Remote Play significantly better--at least not enough. Maybe marginally better under optimal wifi conditions (given that wifi is inherently inconsistent though, that'll be far from all of the time for most people), but that doesnt warrant $200 for a device that has zero functionality beyond remote play. The cheap Android + Backbone can do the same thing, with comparable results most of the time/in most circumstances, and in addition, you can use other apps and run emulators. Also, Backbone+ is only required if you are using it as a wired controller with iPad, Mac, or PC. Beyond that, it just unlocks the app which adds some minor features, but nothing that's actually required for Remote Play.

If the portal did more just be an accessory to the ps5 , I’d agree that it’s better than the backbone .

You have to boost up the mic volume or keep it closer to the mouth the volume is preatty low
