yea, they didn't. its a damn shame too. honestly, they're no where as good as this cover they did, they perfected this song! but their songs are either great or not good at all. there's no middle ground. also, it's hard to get their albums here. import prices are insane and their records (vinyl) are usually crap with a ton of dirt/scratches and surface noise. get the CDs! i hope they get bigger!

She has a smoky soothing singing voice... Seeing them Sunday night at Glastonbury was possibly the worst choice I ever made! I was too blissed/chilled out to go out and enjoy the last bits of the festival! Their performance was exquisite by the way, instrumentation on point every moment of the performance.

Will there be physical copies of your album available? I'm old-school (maybe just flat out old) and I still like something I can hold in my hands as I read the inserts and look at any pictures or artwork. I enjoy the act of setting up a record and even loading a CD. I even like just being able to proudly display things on a shelf in my library.

That was a really interesting take on the song. I love how the guitar and keyboard blended and, of course, the vocal was beautiful. Given how low she started, compared to her speaking voice, I was expecting her to do the octave jump in the first verse and was a little disappointed when she didn't. But holding it off until the second verse made it so much more dramatic. I wish I had seen this and could have stolen that idea before I filmed my cover lol.

I'll bet it's harder to sing that song gently but under full control than it is to belt it out. If you want to hear another utterly gorgeous cover of Wicked Game, check out the one by Heather Nova. Ironically, I discovered her in the first place because somebody put me onto London Grammar, I listened to their version of Wicked Game, and Heather's came up in the recommendeds. Heather is a beautiful singer and an outstanding songwriter. For an early example of her original stuff, when she was being 'rocky' check out our "Sugar" in a live festival performance. For an example of her later, more stripped-back and folky style, try "I Miss My Sky", again, live.

I find London Grammar incredibly tense. There’s so much perfection - at least perceived perfection - that you can feel the tension even listening to it at home. Everything has to be flawless, because flawlessness is the whole point in a way, and I can totally see how that might contribute to stage fright in a huge way: miss a note and it will be so noticeable. It’s hard to describe, but that kind of makes it demanding to listen to as well - sort of feels like sitting in the audience of a very quiet stage play, feeling a coughing fit coming on: you’re scared to mess it up for others. This is amplified by the fact that Hannah looks like a Nineties supermodel. That’s clearly nobody’s fault, but it just complements the music a lot: it really seems to conform to an ideal, even though it’s obviously coincidence. And let’s not kid ourselves: of course it’s all about her. The songwriting and the arrangements are great, but it’s all geared towards showcasing her voice. Easy to see how people might build her up into some kind of supreme being, at least subconsciously. Again, as a sidenote: that would make anyone feel uncomfortable, I bet she has quite a few encounters where people react to her like she’s the fifth bloody element. So when London Grammar rolls into town, it’s like the Louvre putting the Mona Lisa on tour: a certain reverence seems to be called for, even when that’s not really the band’s intention. That’s why I like the orchestral version of “Lord it’s a Feeling” so much: there’s a full orchestra, and they threw a swear word in: sort of out of place, but it does break that tension a little.

I just sang "Wicked Game" in the shower. LOL. Because of severe GERD, I have lost a lot of my upper Soprano range. I'm 56 and have many medical issues. Losing my voice last year has been so terrible. However, tonight, in the shower, I realized that I still have some vocal chops left. Hooray!

I dont think its posible to go wrong with a song like Wicked Game and favorite versions are of course always personal. I like this one, because of the little changes apart from the original. It really says: this is my way to sing it. I searched in your playlist and was surprised Dave Matthews wasn't there, though, again, musical taste is very personal. However I will give you a chorus of which I hope it will get your attention: Gravedigger, when you dig my grave, can you make it shallow, so that I can feel the rain.

@@JohnLnyc It's Debbie Harry's performances in Blondie, particularly "Rapture", and Shirley Manson's performances in Garbage, particularly "Only Happy When It Rains", that convince me that they have what it takes to pull off the nuanced performance that "Wicked Game" demands but leave us not forget a great singer who shared a duet with Chris Isaak...LeAnn Rimes!

If I might add kinda in a whisper, maybe because I have listened to your version so many times I like yours better. Because you are from the UK. I have a secret to share will you. There is this young Lady of the age of 19 that hails from northern UK that is becoming a new sensation here in the states as well as UK and around the world. She has 4 albums completed and working on a fifth. She will have the lead role in a new musical starting next fall
