Great vid. I have neither but want both. I agree that a working man wouldn't normally spend that much on a beater knife. I think I prefer the Sebenza because it looks better as it gets carried, used, and develops character markings (aka scratches) IMO. I would be afraid to use the Mnandi because it is so pretty.

Gen 1 is made with BG-42 Steel. I have one with Ebony inlay's dated November 2001.

such a shame that the machining for the Gen1 nick was so demanding that they stopped doing it... and now the secondary is insane for the Gen 1 :/ anyway, have both (gen3), like the Mnandi more (much more), but the prices have gone up so much since i bought mine, particularly here in Europe (i have a damascus one... they're something like 900 euros now! insanity!), that it has become a shelf queen :(

Hi! In my opinion the Mnandi is still the best gentleman’s production pocketknife! Especially the older versions. I’ve got the second version in box elder too. I’m still able to open the blade with one hand when I want to. But for the German market it’s better the Mandi V2 is considered as a two hands open knife. I also got the Sebenza 31 with black micarta inlays. It’s nice and a little beefier than the Mnandi. But if I have to decide which one could stay in my collection and which one has to go it would definitely the Mnandi I would keep! Best regards, Claus
