Better than a Festool MFT3 ? - RUWI Rail system

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

No not better but different use to the excellent Festool MFT/3, as I now have my Mega MFT this works great for me. I found this rail system which will work with any 18mm Ply worktop , simply cut some slots and you use the RUWI Clamps. no more cutting into your MFT - MDF surface :)

Dear Sir, As someone who had already been on Ruwi's website a few years back & seen what magnificent stuff they have for workshops in general; it's very refreshing that someone is finally highlighting their existence. I think I will subscribe to your channel which I must confess came to it by accident but do appreciate. All the very best & kind regards.

Great Video as usual. The only problem is the Ripdogs don't seem to be available any more as their website says gone fishing and has for some time. I first looked not long after a video where you linked to the as above. Not yet found an alternative yet. May have to look seriously at trying to make something out of aluminium.

So when you are cutting something aren’t you cutting into that raised area now instead of the table? Still seems like there is a problem!?

interesting stuff these Ruwi clamps - how do they attach the plywood + foam to the Ruwi alu rails - do you need to buy the ply from Ruwi or can you make your own?

I think you can , there are screw to the profile, but I order other bits and by the time an supplied my own profile , cut the ply order the foam. RUIW was much better value :)

Another brilliant video from you! Interesting, not over talked and even the music doesn't get on my tits like most channels on You Tube! I loved your Walnut resin table and made my own out of a slab of character English Yew at Christmas. Sadly I work abroad in Qatar so I'm not home till the summer! I miss my woodworking!

Brilliant stuff, I like the look of the Ruwi stuff, did you order it from Germany, or is there a UK supplier? I am also very impressed with the BARTH 500V but again cannot find a UK agent - and I would definitely want to play with it before buying one. Strangely - available in the US, but not here (?)

This like comparing apples and pineapples. It’s nothing like an mft/3 table. For a start mft has a fence and rail that cut 90 degrees and the one cut that in the table also limits break out along the bottom side of the piece. It would be terrible for cutting long pieces two because it only supports the piece at two points. And when you cut the piece you then have two pieces only supported a one point, like a seesaw. This system might be good for holding your work for sanding but bench cookies are perfect for that too.

I know :) your right 100% if you read the description I do say that. but as I now have my own 2440 / 1220 MFT these do things and MDF can't .. if you want support to cross cut jus add 3rd or even a 4th and 5th .. profile

forgot to say you can just cut into the foam , and have the work piece running longways save buying more profiles.. but I love this with sander as you said and also routing were bit is 100% cutting work piece . very handy .. but still need MFT as well

Manor Wood I’d recommend a bench cookie set for that if I’m honest. It’s only about £25 for the full set and it comes with legs that fit into the holes on the mft to lift it off the surface when ripping or routing edges. But if it works for you then awesome.

This would be a better video if you just don't mention the MFT3 at all- it has no connection to what that does. Useful it may be- but not in the same way or for doing the same thing.

Hi there, unless am missing the point here, MFT is about cutting at right angles and repeat cuts, this system does not really show that. I do want to find an alternative because i think the whole mft thing is now out of control ..buy this, buy that bla bla bla . Not to mention if you want a big table say 1.8m X 1m you have to buy another jig to make the holes £££££ !. So am I mistaken it does these things, I just cannot see it. If its just about cutting then this system is a waste of money,
