I'm happy you had a great time. I have a pretty heavy tbr with a full-time job, a family, and my own writing to add another series, but maybe down the road, I can explore Jay Kristoff's work. Stay safe, and happy reading everyone.

I do appreciate a recap, especially if it's from a different POV so information is also added. Lifting weights, drinking blood. You know, comparable topics ;) I can't wait to get to this series!

I got to meet Kristoff and get this book signed during his US tour. It was my first time meeting an author, and the dude was like a rock star, super cool. It's an awesome book.

Its super good as long as some of the adult scenes dont bother you.

@@TomOrange hah! I couldn’t imagine something bothering me less (before coming to the sff world I read a lot of extremely raunchy lit-fic, so absolutely nothing could phase me on this front, and because modern sff is so light on adult scenes I find myself thrilled whenever I come across something actually steamy these days).

I want to give this story a try. I love vampires stories ! And I heard good things about it. If readers has kindle unlimited they have the first book available!

If you are okay with violence and some adult situations I think it’s worth a try!

I really enjoyed the first book. Second book had some middle book syndrome for me. Lots of journeying, place to place. Somehow less mystery, the first book had a very interesting flashback backstory, second book it was more about the two povs and I get it, the unreliable narrator trope, emphasized to the extreme. Still excited for the third book though.

All very fair points! I do think he has a lot to deliver on in the third book

I'm nearing the end of this book and I agree with everything you have said about it. Loved the first book but this one is even better. My main disappointment is that book 3 won't be out for another year or two! Absolutely fabulous read. And I love most of the grim dark aspects except for several things that happen in the vampire camp, so horrific. It just shows how bad these guys are. no sparkly vampires here!

Im hoping only a year for book three. Those vampire camps had some rough stuff going on in them. Really highlighted that they truly are monsters.

@@TomOrange Did you listen to an audio book? I'm reading on kindle and enjoying the art work but wish it was so much larger. That might be reason enough to eventually buy physical copies of these books.
