    Something occurred to me today while foiling: DON'T look at your feet when you switch your feet, this is the best way to loose your balance. Maintain a good speed and look ahead as you do your foot change.

    Awesome, you’re so right, get a better feeling for the balance point and you start to get a better overall feeling for the foil, giving confidence to move around. So much of improving is simple gain confidence! Keep it up, good for switches is a game changer to opening up your overall kitefoiling performance 🤘

    First day trying sky stance and I succeeded!! My foil level is low-medium, totally confident on jibe with downloop on both direction but no tack and no foot change until today. Tried sky stance just for fun and I managed to do jibes in this position with downloop. One of the funnest things ever tried. Thank you!

    Awesome, glad you are having fun with the ski stance, it really is something to have fun with but in the process you'll improve your balance and control of the foil, which helps with everything else in the long run. Keep it up 🤙

    Awesome video 🤙🤙 Just bought a 4.10 board for wingfoiling - I Will defently try try these drills - Think they will help a lot 🤙 Yesterday I tried the board for the first time - my feet felt like, I couldn’t move them at all, when it came to jibing 😂😂. Came from a 7.6 board......

    Good point, these drills can all be used for Wingfoiling too! And that feeling of your feet stuck to the board is felt by everyone but start small and try and understand how to unweight your back foot (wing position and weight forward) and it will start to come to you. Let us know how you get on.

    @@progressionsports Thanks a lot for responding 🤙🤙 Went out earlier today -You are so right - I have trained sofa foot changing a lot with weight on the front foot - that’s a game changer for me. 🤙🤙 But today I felt it easier to change foot position, when the foil was pumped close to the water line. Just after the foot change the foil immediately came back to the right position. 🤙🤙🤙 I will for sure keep on doing the sofa training combined with balance board training. Cheers, Anders

    Definitely, we think foiling saves us from choppy/lumpy conditions but there is so much turbulence under the water screwing around with our foils. I dream of glass flat kitefoiling 😆

    Hi! Thanks for the video! What is the size of the board you are using in the beach drill parts?

  • @progressionsports

    @progressionsports

    That is a F-one Pocket 145cm. It what we teach people to foil on, really great board. It's great board and feels way smaller that 145 once you are up and riding. We have had a few local guys go down to smaller boards and then a year later get the 145 pocket so they can get things like foot changes sorted way quicker and easier.

    @@progressionsports I had quite a productive season this year, mastering all sorts of turns without foot change and also working on a consistency of tacks with foot change. I'm considering 120 pocket for further progression and first jumps. Wouldn't it be too small for me, considering I'm 85kg?

  • @progressionsports

    @progressionsports

    120 is a good size, you can still touchdown and get away with it so helps with foot changes and some of the harder tacks like the roll. Though I should say that not all 120's are the same, if the board has a higher volume then you might be able to go a bit shorter (for instance, the F-one Pocket's are lower volume and the 120 is a great size for what you want, but the Slingshot dwarfcrafts have way more volume and the 120 feels larger so a 110 in that style of board may be better). And water conditions make a difference with board length too, the flatter the water the shorter you can normally get away with. I need to make a video about kitefoil board lengths!!

    I think you are showing it wrong in your land drill, where as you are doing it right on the water. The balance/control of the weight comes from the hips. In your land drill you lean torso forward and stick your butt back which makes it look like the hips are missing in action.
