Hi Tech Based, I've watched your video and I'm currently trying to install the new "files" app but can't see the install button as it is only showing me the buy it now price. Any advice on this is greatly appreciated. [UPDATE] I've managed to install the preview version of the "files" app and it looks much more modern compared to the stock MS version. Thanks for showcasing this :)

it looks prettier but it takes a lot of time to load files, specially anything in the image folder

Yeah, when there are a lotta files, it isn't as snappy as the default file explorer. Especially, the right-click menu.

I tried this once but it was so slow to open and load, I just uninstalled and went back to default file explorer

When adding the tags in the app, does it save the tag to the individual files that are selected?

Amazes me, after so many years and apps that the "large" thumbnail preview for these apps are still small. With larger screens and ultrawides there really is no excuse. I installed it to see if the thumbnails were larger, they weren't. So I'm going to remove.

I was just met with the error 'The remote procedure call failed' after installation. 🤔🤔

Been using it for a while. It's good as a file picker/browser. Sucks for anything too intense like a ton of sub-folders, or moving stuff in general. Copy/paste too... it's very iffy.

Just wondering does it work with Francis and Start11 and does it will work with every Windows program. And when the next Windows update is due will this continue to operate OK?

yes, Files is a very good explorer, I sometimes use it in conjunction with the standard Windows Explorer with PowerToys I am waiting for the development of an explorer called Disk Voyager.

Why don’t you use Desktop to experience Windows version Insider and release? Use Windows Insider on Laptop can reduce performance and make slow

I've had enough with the persistent crashing of the default file explorer that's why I googled an alternative. I like this one but it's not free. I have tp buy it. UGH!!

Antara suka dan tidak suka, karena makin lama dipakai maka akan makin lambat, terlebih lagi belum baik terintegrasi dengan USB Phone Storage, tidak memperlihatkan bar visual berapa besar storage terpakai, untuk sistem pindah berkas tidak dibuat terpisah window seperti bawaannya, melainkan seperti sistem download pada browser sehingga saya tidak dapat melihat progress itu di taskbar. Saya rasa harusnya ada opsi dimana untuk mematikan fitur git juga, rasanya tidak perlu itu ada, begitu juga sistem cloud atau sync, saya juga tidak memakai itu.

Visually.... Files has always been ahead of windows file explorer.. But I think the file explorer is getting mature..

Sigh... no Files is not better... Ultraexplorer is better: more customizable, has a customizeable launchbar for frequently used programs.... And: it is made for desktops, not tablets!

So, we got into a point where we need to download a new file explorer because Microsoft STILL haven't finished Windows 11? Wow. No wonder why people still miss Windows 7.

NOT FREE WHY ON EARTH WOOULD I PAY FOR SOMETHING I CAN GET FOR FREE AND ALREADY HAVE LIKE HELLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
