Because the color of the parents of both spawns is so different it is not a problem to let the fry grow up together as I can trace their heritage easily back based on their color phenotype. Nice video, as always. I'm raising my first successful batch of betta fry. The fry are 8 weeks old now. Recently shifted them to a larger tank. When and how will it be possible to differentiate the males and females? Maybe because its winter now, the fry growth seems to be slower than what is shown in your video.

Usually, it’s 10-12 weeks to spot the differences. But days may vary for plakat or halfmoon, as it’s easy to spot males in big fin’s variety. personally, I dont worry about male vs female till they start their nippy behavior to jar them. Betta fry are known to produce a Growth Inhibiting Hormone (GIH) that retards the growth of the other fry. So, your fry with optimal water quality, frequent water changes will help to reduce the amount of GIH that may be released into the grow-out tank. To ensure that your fry’s growth, Proper live food like vinegar eel, infusoria, micro warms, freq 50-80% water changes, live plants, clean the waste to keep ammonia level. Bigger the tank is better. These are primary considerations to grow big.
Can we use egg yolk instead of live foods…if yes then how long can i feed them with egg yolk and when can i start feeding them with pellets

It’s always like that. You don’t get exact parent colors on all your babies. Also, I did 6 pairs of breeding setup that time, final video of fully grown betta from all breeding setups.

Do you count days starting as day 1 on the day betta egg hatch? then day 2 is the next day and day 3 is first time feed? OR hatch day is day 0 then the next day is day 1 and so on?

Yes, it takes atleast 8-10weeks to notice the difference. Separating them during that time is absolutely fine.
Sir i want to ask what i can feed newborn fries instead of live feeding bcoz where I live there is no life feeding culture available nor in shops and neither in naturally 😔😭😭

Yes, you can feed egg yolks for betta fry that 3-10 days. But take very small amount and feed them by mixing well with water. it will easily make water cloudy and spoil water quality, just be aware. 👍

No, there are several males. In first 2 months, they look same till males get their full tails. You can see in the same video in the end for fully grown males while moving them to the individual tanks
