This is one of THE great performances of popular music. When Beth is at the top of her game, and with the right material, she is THE best. There's no separating her from the song. She is the song. Joe is just so tasteful and dynamic in his support and lead. And you are right...the band is stellar...so sensitive, so skilled, so dynamic. Those wonderful horns just underpinning the mood at the very right times. It's one of those rare instances of the best...at the top of their game.

She is one of the best female singers. She is on my bucket list along with Chinchilla. Her voice is so powerful. Love the rasp.

From first note to last, she was fully in character - beautiful, soulful. As for Joe - no words needed. Perfection. Thank you.

That drummer is Anton Fig, David Letterman's drummer for many many years. He has played on many albums, including drumming for Kiss.

Fig also played for Robert Gordon and Chris Spedding on guitar. That was great to see.

I've listened to this performance a hundred times. It never gets old. Ever. One of the greatest live performances ever.

Ettta James was also credited for co writing this song. Check out I'll Take Care Of You Joe and Beth. I'll Leave The Light On, a song Beth wrote and performs with her band. Beth is much more famous in Europe than the US. ❤😂With singer-songwriter Beth and Joe has released three studio albums - Don't Explain in 2011; Seesaw in 2013; and Black Coffee in 2018 - and one live/video album, Live in Amsterdam in 2014

An absolute beast!

OMG of this does not touch your soul you're dead😅 My God their connection on stage. Beth's masterful vocals. They feed off each other. Wait till you check out I'll take care of you. Now Joe well guitar God. Dude toured with BB King at 13. The blues these old classics brought back to life. That keyboardist and drummer play with him and Jimmy Barnes in Deep Purples Lazy. Absolutely epic masters performance. Always small more intimate venues. Just awesome live! Great reaction Cheers

Etta James first recorded this tune in 1968, and it’s been covered by countless other artists. ✌🏼😎🇺🇸

thanks for sharing their music! i enjoyed your musician's take on things. this is a classic performance. beth's version of "a change is gonna come" at the echoplex in 2010 is a beautiful thing - the sound quality is poor, but she's so moving. + for another classic gritty voice, please check out paolo nutini - so many to choose from, but i'd suggest starting with iron sky live at abbey road studios. + paolo's version of "i'd rather go blind" is so different from beth + joe's, but SO GOOD! enjoy the tunes!

Michael Rhodes was the bass player. He passed away March of 2023 from pancreatic cancer. Reese Wynans, in the world of blues, is a genuine master. He is perhaps best known from his former gig as a member of Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble. Reese was in that iconic band from 1985 until Vaughan's tragic death. Reese has been touring with Joe Bonamassa.
