Every "mario 64 beta rom" was either a fake rom disguised or just dolphin porn (yes, really). TPP admins got misinformed and they are lying.

Except Martinet had voiced Mario in the DOS game "Mario's Game Gallery" a couple of years before this one. They likely either hadn't decided to bring Martinet back yet, or hadn't bothered to get the voice acting recorded yet, hence the use of stock voices.

- 2nd redesign of Peach's castle is actually the upstairs area - Mario's high pitched voice was a placeholder in the time that Charles Martinet was recording his lines (FUN FACT: They were clips of Mel Blank's work in Looney Toons) - Yoshi's egg is not a model; it is actually a texture - The trampoline does actually have AI and functionality, it just has no reaction AI hooked to it. It acts as a trigger, like the cap switches, but it's reaction AI and it's animations were removed. - Power flower coincidence is just that. A coincidence. It was added for decoration in levels (and it's present in the level textures of Lethal Lava Land, not present in it's triggers or models)

+FroggyStyle 64 (cardioandfriends) I don't think the jumps are from Mel Blanc, because I downloaded a sample CD with Warner Bros. SFX on it and although the burn scream is on there, the jumps aren't.

I really wish they did make Yoshi usable somehow within the game at some point ala Super Mario World then maybe make it so that using him to access secret areas which will be the only way to nab up Luigi. Can always hope for the often rumored Super Mario 64 HD to have new content like this :D

I remember watching this video in 2014 saying stuff like “Oh man, it’ll be so cool to play some of those early beta stages.” And here we are in 2020 and the actual beta stages are being ported and played from a leaked early build. I’m just so fucking happy. ;u;

Yet the leaked stuff is meant to be for the ique player and therefore later than even the gamecube, so only test levels should be present in the files other than final game stuff. Though there could be other things from other sources because of the presence of prototype SNES games.

Elliott Savva They did help with the iQue, but they also used their servers for storage long before that. The articles aren’t very accurate

"the trampoline has no functionality" well when Mario jumps on it it sure looks like it's working exactly the way trampolines are supposed to work though? I shoots him up in the air. That's how they work.

Onta Muosyón The functionality was added in later using a hack. If you simply put the trampoline in the game, it wouldn't do anything.

I don't think that there really wasn't anything yet expect placeholders and mario.

6:39 The Toads are missing. They've been trapped within the castle walls. It's just that some of them are able to communicate with you when you approach the wall they've been trapped in. That's why they fade away when you get too far away from them. I believe they go into this in more detail in the Nintendo Power Player's Guide.

c lars If it were another series I'd be inclined to agree with you. But this is Mario after all. And we already know Peach is sealed inside of the Castle's Stain Glass Window. So her subjects being sealed in the walls wouldn't be too far fetched. Besides that's a pretty big castle for just Peach and like five toads. The Official Player's Guide also starts with a little story, that makes sure to emphasize the emptiness of the normally bustling castle.

The wario thing is E3 1996, not spaceworld. That is why it is in english and says "super nintendo" instead of "super famicom".

Coming back from B3313 and watching this, I legitimately thought a lot of B3313's designs were completely original and the voice lines too, but it is very surprising to hear that the prototype voicelines and lobby designs were actually seen in earlier versions of the game
