The Bestevaer 53 ‘Xaos’ was launched at the beginning of July 2022. Like every custom Bestevaer, she was designed and built to the customer’s specifications. This is the first Bestevaer 53 S/Y with a ballasted centre board, for example. On deck we see a beautiful black carbon mast. Instead of a traditional red underwater hull, the customer chose to have it painted black. The interior, too, is completely designed and styled as the Dutch owners envisioned it. The layout is not what you would expect on a sailing yacht, and that makes this Bestevaer again unique and one of a kind.

Dear KM this is one of the most beautiful yachts around today, a signature of your brand and of course Dijkstra one! Can I ask you which is the aluminum alloy used to build it? Also, is the rod used to weld the frames the very same alloy or a different alloy and why? Thank you for your kind answer
I really like this interior. 🥰 Can I ask what is the white material you’re using on inside walls, doors and cabinets? Paint? Laminate?

For the inside walls we used sandwich laminate base plate with HPL. Big doors: massive with panels or double sandwich laminate base with HPL painted or fineer. Cabinets/doors: sandwich laminate base plate with fineer/massive with panels or laminate base plate with fineer.

@@KMYachtbuilders Thanks! I've been thinking of using HPL for my interior surfaces to avoid massive amounts of fairing, sanding, painting, sanding, etc! Only problem is of course that it's hard to "refurbish" if needed...

Can this boat be sailed single handed ?

Yes, that's possible. All lines lead aft to the cockpit, including the reefing lines. Of course, it depends on how well you know the yacht and your experience. If single handed sailing is very important we will help you with setting the yacht up for that. We have owners sailing single handed on 56 footers and larger. Even an 76ft expedition yacht is traveling the world single handed.
