How much wrap is needed to wrap the full car for tesla model Y. No one ever says how much you need to buy or how much they used.

Something I didn’t think I needed, until I saw this video. Wow. Fantastic job and the color is out of the world (deep space!).

Nice quick technical vid on wrapping, pros, cons, etc. I can't disagree on Tesla QC re: panel alignment; but seems to be less of an issue these days. That color looks great probably looks sweeter in person.

I was thinking about wrapping my car in that colour, really nice to seeing the work you did there.

Awesome video. You answered a lot of my questions. I recently had a Model Y white wrapped in a matte black. I can see a lot of white spots here and there. The shop did not remove any panels etc so I guess that’s the negative issue. To do it right you need to remove bumpers etc. thanks again for this video

I completely agree about having a paint color that easily somewhat blends with the wrap color. Because I wrapped my blue car with a blue wrap most people thought it was an awesome factory color. Plus you did a great job on the wrap.

Any reason why these colour changing wraps would be less durable compared to a solid colour? Do they fade at all over time? Picking up a Y in a few weeks and wrapping to protect from driving on Canadian roads. I was planning on matte black but I think this colour is the way to go now!

The wrap looks great and I would love such a unique color but I’m the type of person that drives through whatever carwash is closest and I’ve heard that most wraps aren’t tough enough to go through average carwashes

This is a beautiful color. I live in rural WI where winters can be rough and there are a lot of gravel roads, so I am guessing a PPF would be a better choice than a vinyl wrap.

For the white areas in between the door, you could put a little bit of offbrand black material vinyl just in those areas, you will have to cut the vinyl as if it's like a piece of plastic inside the door, shaping it in a way that when you open the door it doesn't look like just a piece of vinyl you also don't have to wrap the entire door jam. I have done that in the past and it works very well since cars do have a plastic sealed and the door jams which it makes the vinyl blend in pretty good

Off brand vinyl is junk and is hard to work with. In my opinion. The doors can be wrapped but most people don't want to pay for that when the door are only open for a short time

Great looking wrap. How much material do you usually order for a Model Y? Also, how much do you charge for a wrap currently? Sounds like you really enjoy it and that's awesome you re-align the panels. Wish my PPF installer cared enough to do that.

I always order a full roll (75 feet). You wont use all of it but if you mess up a panel you have extra. I do enjoy messing with the cars but it is a lot of work.

i just got mine wrapped and was told, the cover in the front, for the pulling rod, or what is called. is not getting wrapped, because then you will be able to see the colors from the original paint (the white) but seems like you managed to do that. are you wrapping the cover, so front pull rod can be used? (sorry, english is not my native language)

My black ModelX is going on 7 years, has nearly 100k miles and plenty of rock chips. Let me run my plan by you: I will detail and paint correct using paint filler for the rock chips, then ceramic coat the paint, then wrap it to protect the work. Sound right? Not sure on the ceramic coating? Do you ever coat over the wrap?

All you need to do is fill in the rock chips and wrap over the paint. NO ceramic coating first. When you are all done with the vinyl then you ceramic coat it.

This color even looks better than the exclusive cherry red available in germany…. I have a white model 3 and i'd really like to have that color or the cherry red.. but sadly it took all my last breath of saving to even buy the car it self.. i just had enough cash to add a ppf on the side rockers and the front bumper before getting broke lol.. i was thinking about buying a roll and doing the wrap by my self .. but after watching you.. i think it is too difficult for a first time.. i,ll need to train on some cars before attempting this on my brand new model 3. Another problem i might encounter is the working space.. my home garage is so small that i can't even open both sides at the same time.. and one side.. doors can only open at around 70% . my garage might be too small to work on the sides… maybe its the reality for everyone.. garage space is always an issue even for people with bigger garage… we never have enough

They done just peal off. You can take them off when you want to go back to stock or change the color
