    I feel so bad for Pony. She was so kind and genuinely was trying to do her best with the canvas. Also The canvas had no problem with Pony’s “bedside manner” before she went to The bathroom. It almost felt scripted, that she left because of bedside manner and not just because she couldn’t take it. Making it The tatooers fault and not The weakness of The canvas makes for more dramatic tv!

    Pony's Tattoo is the definition of ink master. It's so vibrant and full. Anyone would be stoked to have a tattoo as gorgeous as that. She wasn't disrespectful at all? that canvas knew what she was getting herself into. She's a grown adult not a baby that constantly needs reassuring that a tattoo can hurt. I feel so bad for pony. exactly finally someone who gets it. That canvas was a BITCH! Just because youre soft AF, and a little cry baby who cant take the pain you signed up for doesnt mean you have to take it out on Pony...Pony was nice, sweet, calm talking to her, and that girl was getting angry over the pain, and taking it out on Pony. "you just dont have good bedside manors, and didnt help to keeping me calm" lol she isnt your therapist TF.... You singed up for a tattoo which everyone knows they hurt like a bitch. Yet she cant take the pain, so decides to take it out on her. Almost like she wanted everyone on TV and her friends and family think she didnt finish tattoo because of the artist, not because she quit because she could take the pain. @@fromoz9294 Sure, if the only standard you're measuring is inclusion, but sexism breaks down to a lot more than just inclusion. All I'm saying is when a judge on an art competition says "that looks like one of our ladies' tattoos" or "girls don't usually go for something so dark and gothic" it comes off as attempting to take away the agency of that artist based solely on something as superficial as gender. When they say "I didn't expect a women to do this" it is synonymous to "I didn't think you were capable of this, because you are a woman," which means this artist has to work up from this judge's preconceived notions of what women are and aren't capable of when it comes to art. This is inherently sexist, her being a female objectively has nothing to do with her art, and to say that a certain piece of art "looks like a woman did it" is to take away that artist's agency, and when you do that, you defeat the purpose of art itself.

    @@GtsAntoni1 there have been two girls to win ink master.. three of you count the final where they all tied. multiple is a little far fetched lol. the only reason they made ink master angels was for $$$$ and pandering. they had been consistently called out for the underrepresentation of woman on their program and everybody loved Ryan and the girls. they knew it would make them money. there have been MULTIPLE times that Chris himself has called out women for tattooing a certain way on other women because it’s “not feminine” enough. I’ve heard him call out an artist for putting “too much black a lady” and that you “really should go that dark on a girl”. pony being eliminated for her unfinished piece when it was arguably one of the best there because it was “unfinished” is rich considering how many men have stayed with unfinished tattoos. @@faithfox8851 You need to look up the definition of multiple. Over 70% of tattoo artists in the US are men. You may not like it, it may go against your own personal beliefs, but the vast majority of people in the world can clearly be categorised as feminine or masculine. In fashion, women are adorned by feminine garments. In art, women are portrayed as feminine. If you look at most womens' tattoos, you will see a stark difference in their style, predominantly that they are more feminine, and depict objects and characters that are classically feminine. Pick a show, person, or company, and s tiny minority of very vocal people will likely have been outraged over something. Women are overrepresented in the show vs the industry. I have seen a plethora of artists who have eliminated because of an unfinished tattoo, even when that artist was obviously better. Is the idea that television shows are there to make money? And don't you see the disconnect between claiming the girls were given their own show for revenue, but the main program being biased? Does profit not matter when it comes to Ink Master? I don't want to be rude, but all of your points feel a little grasping. Like you *want* it to be true; perhaps to confirm your own bias.

  • @faithfox8851

    @faithfox8851

    @@GtsAntoni1 My point with the feminine/masculine comment is that it has ONLY been made towards women. I have never ONCE heard a comment out of the judges mouth about a man having too much of a “feminine” tattoo, or telling a man that he used too feminine of colors on a man. it has only been used against women. Nunez has made comments on numerous occasions about women giving other women too masculine of a tattoo, once saying that an artist shouldn’t tattoo a “tough” tattoo on a woman. In the blind critiques, there are comments about the tattoos being colored and draw femininely, meaning it has to be a girl, and the tough looking tattoos being done from men. he is essentially saying that women shouldn’t wear tough tattoos and women shouldn’t tattoo tough tattoos on other women. I don’t think my points are grasping at all, and a great majority of the comments agree with the points that I’m making, and make the same points that I do. Nobody is saying that the point of the Angels show isn’t to make money. Because no shit lol. But you’re saying that they aren’t biased against women on Ink Master because the network has a show with women on it. Just because they have a show with women on it doesn’t make the judges in a completely different show any less biased towards women lol. It honestly really doesn’t have much correlation considering they aren’t involved. But, it’s also very obvious the show was done to please people who were slamming the network and show for not being more inclusive. And because the audience really took a liking to the girls. Meaning they will tune in and they will make money. This isn’t about the network, it’s about the judges on Ink Master and the message they’re sending to people who want tattoos and have tattoos. Whether you want to say it’s gender bias or not, it’s off putting to say the least. Somebody who is supposed to be an unbiased judge with years of experience is preaching that women shouldn’t have tough and dark tattoos to an audience that has women artists and women who are tattooed. I don’t feel like the gender of the canvas should matter. if the artist is producing a badass tattoo, it shouldn’t matter if the canvas is male or female.

    Pony is a genuinely sweet girl. She was showing concern. Her intentions wasn't to hurt her. Everyone tattoos different. If you notice none of the other tattoos that girl she was tattooing was as bold as that rose and wasn't as solid. It's going to be more tender. Thier is a time frame she has to meet to have it complete. Her line work was clean, the color was saturated, it was identical to the photo. And that shouldn't be used against her when a client taps out on a good piece. I've seen episodes that either artists, or canvases have flipped script. She was calm and collected. She didn't only do a damn good job, but she did it respectfully. She spoke with her canvas, and gave her canvas a explanation with an apology. She showed more than alot of artists do. She was empathic and sympathetic. She wasn't completely heartless. I think overall she executed it even unfinished. From my judgment and opinion I would have given this a 5 star review.

    I never comment on videos but after watching these compilations that the page has put up I’ve really noticed how biased Nunez is and how he generally seems to be biased against women (i.e. saying the colors indicate what gender the artist is or by saying a woman cant have a certain tattoo because its not “girly” enough). The blind judging was really refreshing and it lets some of the “unfavorable” artists have a moment to shine. Also his way of judging makes no sense at all at certain times. The man needs to get a grip already.
