    I cut about a 1" piece of clear tubing and cut a slit down the middle to wrap around the weight on a c-rig to keep from beating my rod up.

    No mention of the Tokyo Rig. It is an excellent combination of in my opinion a Texas rig and shaky head. You can get them between a 2/0 - 5/0, you can get finesse versions for wacky rigs. It is a very versatile rig that you can fish all kinds of soft plastics on.

    Worm fishing is my confidence technique. I fish a very stained local shallow lake. Mostly weightless or weighted Texas rig Senkos or Yum Dingers along with an occasional finesse technique, but worms get the bites. At least for me where I fish.

    Are there any other rigging options for long ribbon tail worms other than Texas & Carolina rigging? Can I use a shaky head with them?

  • @richardbossman9875

    @richardbossman9875

    You can, I have done that with success and you can also throw worms weightless. Straight tail worms will cut and dart when twitched and ribbon tails swim great on top.

    I started fishing worms by using 6” straight tails like the zoom trick worm or ribbon tails like Culprit and I fished them on light TX rigs but if they had been around back then Iprobablywouldhave been throwing shakeyhead worms in about the same weight you have. Just try different retrieves and different areas until you get the hang of it.

    Some fisheries are like that, absolute bad factories and other are stingy. I’d rather put together a decent limit on a stingy lake/pond than catch 100 dinks where anyone can do the same.
