Every time I have an itch for a super expensive "luxury item," I watch one of these videos and get back to my senses. Great review, and it really proves that we often pay for the name, as much as some of these thousand+ dollar bags will deteriorate so quickly. I have bags for less than $200 that have lasted more than some of these luxury brands.

Well TBH I'd rather invest in one expensive bag than buy 100 cheaper bags. They can resell how often does your cheap bags resell?? And besides TBH to me what matters most is the style, I've never seen a 'cheaper' bag that I'm crazy about not even like it enough to want to use it. I guess I went from a non bag person straight to a designer bags girl but it's defs not because of the name! Cheap bag's style just doesn't really compare idk.

If you've ever purchased a Louis Vuitton bag / wallet you wouldn't think that. I have wallet purchased 6 years ago that looks BRAND NEW. I used it on a daily basis and sold it months ago and recouped all but $100 of the original purchase price. LV definitely holds up & you get what you pay for.

I agree. I have a Guess tote bag and carry it almost every day​ and is very sturdy. I paid about $100 for it and it's worth the purchase. The Goyard looks cheap though...

Yes I agree too would never buy a Goyard. Not only does it look cheap the wear and tear indicates that as well. I own several LV's and Gucci bags, I also own a few coach and other cheaper brands and my experience has been you pay for the name. Don't get me wrong, yes some of the luxury bags are great quality and style, but in this day and age almost all the designers are copying each other's styles and designs. LV's Neverful is just a tote and honestly it's not even a very functionally designed tote.That being said I still own several LV bags and am always in the market for more but I'm trying to focus more on both style and functionality. Case in point I owned the LV petite noe, I thought it was cute but it has no pockets. I returned that bag and purchased the LV Neo Noe it at least has one pocket to increase its functionality and the style is better IMO. Just my 2 cents!

Nice review! Personally, I will NEVER use an open tote. Based on this premise, my go-to totes will always be Longchamp and MZ Wallace. Both weigh next to nothing when empty, protects daily carry by being water resistant and deters theft, wears easily on shoulder, multiple color choices (switch them out daily if you want) , is understated, and have a great price tag 😉. If more structure is desired just pop in an organizer 💁🏼‍♀️. Simple, practical, and won’t break the bank!

I saw the Goyard bag on a tv show a long time ago and have LOOKED with no success. All I had to go on was the look, was never able to find the maker and I’m sooo grateful that I saw your video. I’ll be trying to purchase on if I can find an available tote. Happy day!

I live in NYC and the Longchamp store in Soho will take your bag and fix the corners for you if they are tearing. They do it for free! Just bring your bag in and leave it with them for a few weeks - I don't remember the timeline as I did this about 3 years ago. They sewed the edges and fixed the seam and made the bag wearable again! Great customer service. I would imagine that this is the case with all Longchamp stores, but you may want to call ahead to be sure!

+Chase Amie yes they do offer repair in London. I visited the longchamp regent street store and just sent mine off for repair. The advisor did state it takes 3-4weeks as it goes back to France for repair. Love your videos

I'm currently using my Chanel GST as my work bag and I love it, it's my fave 💖 I like it because it's a structured bag, so whatever I put in it stays in place and the bag sits well wherever I put it. And as you said the zipper compartment is so functional, no worries for valuables spilling out! Yes I too can't fit my lunch in it, but it's not an issue for me cos I always carry my lunch separately being afraid it would stain the bag! I love your bag collection and btw your top is too cute!!! x

My current work bag is the Mansur Gavriel large tote. It is a structured bag without any pockets but does come with a small purse. It's minimalist and I love it although it is not roomy enough for me. I love it though!

I got here from watching your review on the Soft Lockit. :) I feel like the St. Louis was originally designed as a simple beach tote anyways (Goyard themselves have said this bag is reversible so the waterproof outer canvas can be utilised for wet beachwear). Taking this into consideration, and with everything that's been considered a con (strap drop, "flimsiness", etc), it actually makes sense St. Louis don't necessarily have the durability that one expects of a Neverfull. So, perfect for short periods or on holiday but as workhorse bags, I don't think so. Goyard does have a new model called the Anjou, which would be my target. It's the St. Louis, basically. Reversible, but the other layer is full leather. Absolutely gorgeous.

Great video. For a nice tote try Barrington. The quality time is very nice and its very affordable. You can monogram it and doesn't look flimsy like the Goyard, and isn't flashy like the LV Monogram

What a wonderful review!!! I have been wanting...no, needing a Chanel GST and a Goyard PM in white, but have I debating if it is worth the money base on how much use I can get out of it. Thanks for your wonderful review - just amazing! It helped a lot! I am so glad you shared the strap issue about the Chanel GST and the corner wear of the Goyard. I have been wanting a Prada bag, but most of the bags are top handles. Some comes with a strap, but it just doesn't look as nice with a strap on since it is very structured and was design to be a top handle bag. In the end, we need functional bags too when paying that much. I agree with you I have a Neverfull in each of the three prints and I LOVE it so much. It is ridiculous how much use I can get from it. Looks like a casual bag during the week and any of the pattern (LV mono or Damier) would look professional for the work week. The LV logo with vachetta trims looks like a vintage book/luggage - a very classic look. Even though I own one, I still think it looks gorgeous when I see it on other ladies. I never get tire of looking at LV Neverfull (especially in LV Monogram). Yes, I agree with you that there are reasons why everyone loves it, stylish, classy, functional, and (VERY) durable. For some reason, I like the fact that it is canvas too. Besides the durability of canvas, I think the print and how they coat it makes it looks like leather for some reason. Well, thanks for sharing your videos once again. It is always enjoyable watching you. And I absolutely love, love, love your accent! By the way, I think I may have mentioned this to you before on one of your other videos, but you should give Tory Burch handbags a try. I promise I do not work for Tory Burch at all lol! I know you like the pink color just like me and they carry the "Light Oak" color bags that are in between a light pink to beige tone. They also have this tote style called the "Perry tote" which is functional, comfortable, and very cute. The leather is really thick that it is soft to touch but have a bit of structure so it doesn't flop over. I live in the US, so I don't know how accessible it is to get a Tory Burch bag over there where you live. By the way, there have been a lot of hype over the Gavriel Mansur (average priced) tote bag in the US. Do you own one? If so, can you do a review on it? It really does look like leather too - my boyfriend was so shocked when I told him it was canvas! I do think I remember the Tory Burch mention - I took a look at the Perry and you're right; I do love it! The light oak colour is super pretty although I absolutely adore the blue cloud colour too. I took a little look at the UK but we seem to have really limited stock which sucks! I guess Tory Burch just isn't that popular here :( Thank you so much for the suggestion though, you were spot on!

After watching a few of your videos I'm tempted into saving up and buying a Louis Vuitton neverfull. I have never had interest before in spending so much on a bag, the most I have ever spent is £150 but the last couple of months I have been looking more into some designer bags and I think from everything i have heard, the neverfull seems like a good purchase for my first.

You won't regret it. I bough mine's in the GM size even though I'm petite. I use it for everything and every day. Mine's I bought in early 2013 so it didn't come with the little pouch but it was under 1k USD. I think it's a lot more now. 😑

I love watching your videos as they are so informative!! I was in London early September and was in fact looking to buying a Goyard St Louis PM. They did not have the one that I wanted which is the black on black. Looking at your Goyard's wear and tear, I'm now thinking twice about it as they don't come cheap. Even though I love LV but I would prefer something not so flashy as the LV monogram is kind of that. Would you still recommend Goyard St Louis as I would like to treat myself to a "not so common" tote?

What's interesting about the corner wear on your Goyard, when I asked Goyard about it at the boutique in SF, the SA there says it's because the person uses the bag too much -- as in an everyday bag and that they put their laptop in there. But I know you wouldn't beat around a bag or stuff it too much and the fact that you didn't use it that much and the corners are worn, definitely puts me off. Thank you for this great review! xo

+coquetteloves Oh wow, that makes me like Goyard a little less. It's a tote bag - they're SUPPOSED to be used frequently and the fact that this happened even with infrequent use... If it was a clutch, I'd understand but that just says to me it's poor quality. $225 seems a lot to fix their quality issues... unimpressed! Thank you for sharing though!

I saw another mom at my daughter's swim class the other day w/ a Goyard tote and I took a closer look at the corner cuz she was right in front of me. Sure enough, it looked like a tiny hole was starting in the corner. Her bag looked new too. Thanks for your amazing videos! You saved me from making a mistake.

If you have an unstructured goyard tote, you need a tote organizer on the inside to protect the corners a bit. You could also get a bellechasse or one of the more structured totes that has leather on the corners.

Too bad the GST has been discontinued. Such a beautiful and roomy bag!

Love this video , I have been going back forward with Chanel GST and I know I would be annoyed if the shoulder strap keeps falling but just love the look of it. Don't know if I am going to get it as I probably won't take it to work. I love Neverfull and currently have the MM size. Would definitely get the GM size as well. The Chanel would win for me due to its structure, not so much the handles; they're awful, hate chain straps. Many bags have a saggy bottom when you put anything other than a purse in, so annoying. I have a grey DKNY one with similar compartments and also a zip pocket inside for keys and a slip pocket for my phone. It has top handles and a detachable long strap to carry various ways. Love it and not too spendy either. Your limited edition Longchamp is gorgeous!

I find it absolutely perfect for carrying loads, it's pretty comfortable to wear on the shoulder even when heavy and it's practically indestructible! If you want a lower price point, then the Longchamp Le Pliage is also a great option :)

I recommend a celine tote, beautiful craft and chic. Though the price is not so great, but it's a good tote for work ass well. And I like the fact the logo is tiny so it's not that visible

You can always use the base shaper from CloverSac for your Longchamp Le Pliage. It's really nice and inexpensive. ;-)

+Ann Arce I love the look of it - it can just get a bit frustrating with the strap issue. If you think that won't bother you then go for it! It's a beautiful bag :)

You have great collections of handbags Chase, love it! I have been looking to buy a neverfull mm and speedy B25 however I am torn between the mono vs. ebene prints. Could you advise please?

+Janice Quinto Thank you! I don't own anything in the DE print however I think that's next on my wishlist! I think it comes down to whether you're going to mind the vachetta darkening over time. The mono would be my first choice as I think it's the most classic but if you're concerned about wear and tear, then maybe go for the DE :)

that's what's keeping me from buying the Goyard.. it's been on my wishlist for years.. but the wear and tear is so sad.. for the price you pay.. I have others.. gst, nf and longchamp.. the lattter two are my everyday bags too.. so functional

Have you had issues cleaning your Longchamp? Especially the limited edition one? I took mine out for the 1st time and within a week, it got dirty and I have no idea how to clean it.

I bought my never full that year after I watched your video and I’ve come back now to re-watch your review on the Goyard St Louis tote, given it is everywhereeeee right now. Do you still have the same opinion on this?

+JemJemR Thank you lovely! There's a Goyard shop in London right opposite the Connaught hotel (go there for tea and they give you lots of amazing free snacks - FYI!!) :D

+ylin17 I would love another Neverfull in the MM size but apart from that, I'm pretty bag content at the moment! Waiting for Chanel to release another taupe jumbo but who knows how long that might be!

Great comparison! I am thinking of getting the Neverfull but I noticed yours is an older one do you think a new one from this year will still be as good quality?

I find the quality is the same except that the newer version comes with the detachable pocket. I bought mine's in early 2013 in the GM mono canvas.

I have two quick questions as I am still interested in GST (still=..=) 1) besides the problem of trying to get it stay on your shoulder is there any other problem you think I should be aware of? 2) When you get it at Heathrow, did you fly to non EU country? I am working in the UK and I will fly from Heathrow to France this easter but I am not sure whether the price will be the normal retail price or the cheaper price if I fly to EU country? +plelclalnls No other problems I found and I bought it when flying to Germany so you should be fine :)

Longchamp fixes their bags for free! I just drop mine off at my closest Longchamp store when the corners get ragged, and they take it in, no questions asked. I get a call in a few weeks, and just pick it up! :)
