I'm a new CNC owner adding a CNC to my existing vinyl sign biz. Your video hit me like angels from heaven! Exactly what I need for my biz! My table is 3x5' so I plan on a Ritter Board just a wee bit bigger so I have enough room to create a glue-up that can fill my table. Anyway...being as I'm in the vinyl sign biz, there is a waste product that should "Wake Up" any woodworker here sick of getting glue all over everything. Vinyl comes on a roll, in my case 54". The vinyl is attached to "Carrier Paper" which is ultimately completely discarded. Rolls are 150' long. That's a heck of a lot of waste but it is what it is. One side is paper-like but the other side is shiny and very slick! It's very tough. Makes an excellent drop cloth. It could be used for templates or construction paper. Nothing sticks to the shiney side! Not even the vinyl! Here's the deal.....I give it away! It's waste...Like saw dust to a CNC'r. So ... All you woodworkers looking for free drop cloths and a product to keep glue from sticking to your tools and table, go to your local vinyl sign shop. If you pay money you've paid too much.

I'm just getting started in woodworking so I don't have a lot of clamps yet. And since I'm on a budget and still want/need a lot of other tools, one of these would free up a bunch of that clamp money for other things. I'd imagine this is also very useful for when you need to clamp things from multiple directions and keep it all square.

Yeah it definitely would I built mine when I only had a few clamps came in very handy and I would only buy clamps when they were on sale or if I really needed larger ones for specific projects. Thanks for watching by the way happy Woodworking to you.

Great clamping idea. I am going to start building smaller projects and this concept is smart. I have several push toggle clamps I think I just found a good use for instead of air clamps. I like the air clamps but wedges & toggle clamps will work for me as well. Thanks for the video, keep up the good work.

Great video and a great system. A couple of questions - is it just a single 3/4" thick sheet of plywood? Also what size holes you recommend & can you please show how those holding blocks are made - guess there is a dowel on the underside. Looking forward to building something similar. how are the clamps mounted to the back or that board? I assume a round pin is screwed onto them. I will have to think this over I am in the process of designing pneumatic bar clapes that hang on a french cleat and can fold out to mount a panel and then fold flat on the wall, I am planning on using unistrut to make the clamps. But I do like this a lot. You got a like and sub from me anyway.

great info! how are you making the pnematic clamps stay? are there round pegs glued to the backs of them?

  • @StonerEricson

Yes, I made a short showing how I attached them. It’s in the rest of the comments below I love this thing. It’s all my favorite things in the shop, but I get this question all the time so it’s the round pegs with CA glue and a one and five agent screw running through the screw in the automatic clamp all of the products I use for the pneumatics are in the link in the description of the video so you can just order it directly off Amazon

Great job . Love your presentation style and energy ! But please wear some EYE protection. Using all those power tools with no eye protection is like rolling a dice . You’re an influencer . Use that to help prevent blindness. Students learn good habits from teachers, and unfortunately they do the same with bad habits. In a split second, a chip or debris can literally blind you forever. Keep up the great content.
