Are using currency exchange providers like revolut better than opening a US credit card with no foreign transaction fee like capital one venture card? I want to know which one is better to avoid paying extra fees!

Both. You can witbdraw cash with a credit card but you pay a fee. Its called a cash advance. Dont do it its expensive. Get a credit card with no foreign fees AND find a way to obtain cash like revolut or monzo

Can I bring a lot of cash and exchange it in their local currency? If you can, Is that recommended or not?

It would depend on how much. For example, the UK has a limit of £10,000. Also, most bureau de change or physical locations that offer currency conversion do not give very good rates. I would recommend checking www.monito.com - and seeing which provider can give you the best deal and doing it before you travel. Thanks ^Jonny

Why do people from the UK have options for free cash withdrawals but not us europeans? Is there no better option? Wise doesn't come close 😅

I know it’s really frustrating and doesn’t make sense! n26 on their more expensive plans (You & Metal), do provide free withdrawals. Where are you based? ^Jonny

@@Monitodotcom I'm based in the Netherlands. Im going to be moving to Australia and spending a good time traveling in asia on and off while there for the next 3 years. Currently with bunq but their free plan is ending in a year or so... I'll not use the card in Aussie though but a local one so a monthly payed plan would probably end up costing me more. Was thinking for travel my best bet might be to get multiple cards and spend their free limit cash withdrawals each month until moving to the next one. What would you reccomend?
