Excellent work! I'm going to get my son to watch this before he tries scenery on his layout. I'm looking forward to more scenery video's and I hope you will do some how-to videos for building structure kits as well. There isn't enough out on You Tube like that for modelers new to the hobby. And I think you are doing a great job of scenery on your layout. One suggestion - explain the materials and tools you are using -generally tell us what everything is called (somewhat officially) and suggestions on where people can buy the materials, tools, etc. and roughly how much they cost - i.e. "This is a mix of Woodland Scenic's medium and fine turf I;m using for this grass that can be found at you local hobby shop for around $X dollars" or "you might find these bottles with the glue tips at a craft store for about $10 for 3 of them", etc. It will be helpful to anyone trying to do the same. Thanks again - keep 'em coming!

Very nice display/application there. Well done. If you ever need finer or even more accuracy, putting the glue down first enables you to precisely position the grass. Sprinkle with fingers and hoover up when dry. (with stocking over pipe to recover excess). All the best from the UK

why do you apply alcohol and what does it do?

it allows the glue mixture to penetrate instead of beading up.

Easy technique. Very similar to what I have seen elsewhere but not applying the glue first is interesting. I really like those little bottles you have for applying the alcohol - where did those come from? Better than using the pipettes which sometimes drop far too much liquid and push the material away in a blob.

If you put a thin cover of glue down first .The grass will not spread or pull away from the layout. I do like the way you lay grass.

I must have missed it….What’s the purpose of the alcohol? Thanks!

The alcohol breaks up the surface tension so the glue will flow better between the material. Try it with and without on a scrap piece of wood and you might see a difference.

Waste of money,, a drop of detergent in the glue does just as well
