Great review! I’ve been using the Hot Rims CHROME on my Harley for 4 or 5 years now! It’s amazing and I swear by it! Just purchased 2 more bottles from Walmart last weekend. It was only like $6.48 or so a bottle. I keep it in stock for my HOG!!!

Hello from France my friend. I own all 3. And they are 3 fantastic rim products!. I love the blue (aluminum) for contactless washing on ceramic coated rims, with its ph of 8 it remains safe enough not to damage the coating. The pink (all wheel) for a stronger cleaning ph13.5 but especially for a super cleaning of the tires with a strong browning effect. And the red (chrome) ph2.5 I use it occasionally on the paint to remove hard water spots, spray, rub, rinse, it works very well but be careful not to let it sit too long on the clear coat in my opinion! (Wheel Brightener D143 can do the same!). Otherwise me my n°1 remains for the moment meguiar's wheel & Paint Iron Decon D1801. For a good all in one for rims.

My brake buster and Ik foamer arrived tonight. Love it. Was out there at night in the lights. Well see how the touchless wash came out in daylight. Got my technicians choice tonight to. Ceramic coating coming in the days ahead and then we’ll check the technicians choice after the coating is on. Thanks for all your videos. I set up a car wash station in the garage. Lol.

Hi! Great review. Could you tell me if the wheel on a 2021 Highlander is aluminum or chrome? I am not sure which one of the spray to purchase

For me I use Superclean using a white carpet drill brush for the tires. Save $/product and lots of spraying: Spray the wheel cleaner on to a wheel brush for the wheels. When removing wheels I use a Mothers powerball with extension for the inside of the barrels.

Few weeks ago I was standing in Walmart with all 3 bottles in my hands for a half hour and decided to not get any as I was confused and didn’t want to damage my rims. love watching your channel! I am a Deputy Sheriff in rural southeast Ohio. There are lots of dirt and gravel roads here. Im getting a new Tahoe PPV and Im looking for suggestions for a list of chemicals to keep my ride looing good inside and out. If you could help a brother out Id appreciate it. I think the only thing I found that I like is the Adams Chemical Graphine tire dressing.

Great Video! Rhe aluminum cleaner is great for the polished aluminum truck bed tool boxes. Harsh chemicals almost make those boxes look satin finish after a wash or two. Gotta keep the aluminum diamond plate shining! 🔥

I use the hot wheel purple cleaner on my finished black gloss wheels and it performs great. Brings back the shine back. I also follow it with a ceramic wax to complete the black gloss shine.

Can the Meguiar's Wheel and Tire Cleaner be used on a stock steel rim? These rims are usually painted black with little round holes in them. Also I have hubcaps on the rims would the Wheel and Tires Cleaner be safe to use on the hubcap?

Regardless the type of wheel cleaner. It's still a good idea to use a wheel brush or wheel woolie?. Because you don't know if you'll get into all the areas with the chemical

What about matte finish wheels?

Great review also why do you use an electric pressure washers instead of a gas pressure washer, with some of the gas ones having a high GPM and PSI and which produces more foam with a foam cannon

What if I have platinum wheels?

This is great! I needed this. I sometimes have trouble with some wheels in my business. Especially when it comes to getting the barrels really clean. I use super clean for the tires and rims, then I use 3Ds BDX iron for the barrels. I'm going to try some of these product that were mentioned here in the comments. I've used brake buster before and for whatever reason feel like it wasn't strong enough for me 🤷🏾‍♂️

Thanks for the info. I had to figure out a product to clean my polished aluminium wheels that are on my motorcycle. They are a pain to get clean and keep clean. Ive spent numerous days over the summer using mothers aluminum polish to improve the finish on them. Now as I get closer to having them shiny again, I went thru this video and purchased the Aluminium wheel cleaner in this brand. Even though its not as strong as the others, I don't want to ruin the finish I worked so hard to shine up. Is there a better product out there for polished aluminium that you would recommend over all the others?

Honestly keeping with the least aggressive method is way to go, if you try and get too aggressive then it can start causing issues with the finish. I know it’s a pain…

I love the purple bottle wheel and tire cleaner. Just beware of the bottles. They're so thin that they break very easily. I dropped one while sitting and it busted. I also had one break in my detail bucket in my trunk. I now just put it in a reusable bottle so I'm not wasting it.

Don't they make a all purpose one as well?

Also can you show us what you use for your professional business?

Meguiars Detailers Non-Acid for me. You can also dilute it 1:1.

Has anyone tried a product that works well on Volk powder coated wheels? I am terrified of using a wheel cleaner on them without someone else sharing their experience.

I use meguiars ultimate all wheel cleaner on my 4000 dollar tires and rims and I love it ,it changes color as its cleans and takes the brake shit off with eas ,highly recommend

@@carlostaveras3309 it doesn't state that it can be used on chrome. Mine are painted black. I don't see why it can't be used on any rim type. So look as it doesn't dry on it or sit too long

FYI, Meguiar's has a 4th wheel cleaner, the Ultimate Wheel Cleaner also available at Walmart & other car parts stores. I believe it has Iron remover in it?

Thanks for making this video. Also, starting at 1:08 you sound a lot like Tom Delonge.

The wheel and tire cleaner looks really good. The best I've used is Adam's Wheel and Tire Cleaner. The thing is, you use so much of this stuff that price is a huge factor. As good as this Meguiar's one looks (though I don't know if it's as good as Adam's), it's still more expensive per ounce than Adam's if you buy Adam's gallon jug ($45). And Adam's can comfortably be diluted 1:1 and still have great performance. Another good option is Turtle Wax's hyper foam wheel and tire cleaner, which is only about $35 for a gallon and can also be diluted 1:1 for great performance. I haven't used it yet but reviews are great. I'll probably buy it once I'm through with my Adam's jug.

Thank you for posting this. I had no idea some of these could be diluted. I have used Adam’s wheel & tire cleaner, it’s good, but the sprayer on the bottle it comes in is terrible. Over the weekend, I used Turtle Wax’s hyper foam and it’s phenomenal. Only negative I had with it was the smell. I’m wondering if I dilute it 1:1 will that help tone down the terrible smell?

@@ericcarter6421 unfortunately the smell is kind of a staple of wheel and tire cleaners. It may help a tiny bit, but not much. And I agree that Adam's sprayer for the wheel and tire cleaner is terrible. I just use either a foam sprayer like iK Foam Pro 2 with the product diluted 5:1 or a $4 spray bottle from Walmart that works way better than Adams'.

P&S wheel cleaner is good too

i need to get me a chrome cleaner. all i use is super clean

I just decontaminate my wheels. Then i apply a good sealer or wax. Then I don’t need to spray on harsh chemicals on my wheels because nothing sticks the them

Because of my neglect I need to get years of baked on brake dust off my forged aluminum chrome plated truck wheels, any suggestions? Thanks Josh 👍😁

Hmmmm. id want to see them to be safe. If its a truce chrome plating go with the chrome wheel cleaner. If its just a high polished aluminum though the chrome wheel cleaner can damage them so just test a small spot first

Once you have the wheel off try something like a Mothers powerball. It is a foam ball that attaches to a drill. Spray the wheel cleaner to the ball and start removing the baked on junk. It comes with an extension so you can get at the entire wheel drum.

Living in South Louisiana with hot humid summer days of 90°+ with 65%+ humidity and heat indexes over 110 makes it difficult for me )”(almost 70 yrs young 😉) so anything that can cut my time cleaning wheels on my truck is greatly appreciated. 😂👍🏻

Hot Rims Chrome worked very well for my wheels * Fuel Chrome Finished Wheels. Don’t have to agitate * follow directions on the amount of time on surface. 👍

You still recommend the P&S Brake Buster over anything else?

Meguiars Non Acid wheel and tire cleaner. Or really any brand of non acid wheel cleaner sold by the gallon. They're all high ph, without too much variation in ingredients. Nanoskin makes a good one, P&S Brakebuster is good. For less money Superclean or Purple Power degreasers are not bad. For all of these the only thing to remember is don't let the product dry on the surface or it WILL cause staining.

Joe is right! The Hot rims wheel and tire has some sulfonic acids so i do really like the non acid wheels cleaners. amzn.to/3NYUudZ They all register VERY high on the PH scale around 13-14 on the alkaline side meaning they are corrosive which is why they work so well to brake up all the dirt and break dust

My wheels are chrome-plated alloy. The chrome is on the outer face, and the rest of the exposed wheel on the inside is alloy. Use the "regular" cleaner?

Good question.... What kind of vehicle is it on? Ive seen some thing like that and the chrome is actually a plastic insert cover ( seen it on some ram pick ups)... If its real chrome, and you have multiple materials, then id probably go with the wheel and tire but just test it and be careful. But i would think that should be fine

@@imjoshv 2011 Malibu. They are alloy wheels for sure. When I first bought it (used in 2013), I thought they were chromed steel, but later found out that they're alloy. I'll try the Wheel and Tire. Thank you!

I believe the red one (chrome) is an acid based formula and the purple one is a strong alkaline cleaner…

I picked up a wheel cleaner from Walmart. "SudsLab Zero Acid" u need to review it. ONE OF THE BEST IVE EVER USED! Almost hands free. Trust me get it!

@@cecisalazar7622 I use it on every wheel and tire and have had no issues. I use it diluted 4:1 in a Marolex Axel 2000 foam pump sprayer. If the sprayer is empty I'll use 40 oz of water and 10 oz of brake buster for a total of 50 oz and it fills up the bottle about 3/4 full and will last for several uses

I cannot stress this enough. Do NOT use the chrome cleaner for anything other than chrome. I had chrome looking wheels but turned out it was not true chrome and at first it worked great. But after a couple months I used it and pressure washed some of the finish off and they all just peeled from there. Not the wheel cleaners fault but just make sure your wheels are chrome before using.

Yea many people actually have a very high polished alloy which looks similar to chrome. The chrome cleaner could potentially stain that

If you're saying that alloy is aluminum then you need to change your intro. Alloy vs Aluminum it may confuse some one.

save some cash and buy the Megs D143 non acid cleaner. Its the exact same thing as hot rims but in a gallon form so much more cost effective.

Yea that stuff works great as well! They are different though. But work very similar. The Hot Rims Wheel and Tire has sulfonic acid and the non acid D143 does not

For great results with any of these products, you should use a brush to scrub the dirt. Not just apply and rinse

it’s not meant to be used on powder coated or painted wheels as it has acid. I use that one mainly for tires with browning on them that non acid wheel cleaners would not remove.

Correct! But it is safe for oem clear coated wheels. it shouldnt eat the clear coat if its used properly.

I mentioned that im using about 1200psi at 1.7gpm. Its the Adams Pro Pressure Washer hooked up through a gravity fed system in my truck
