I've noticed Subs in particular really dropping in price this last week. But remember anything above 4 ish should be authenticated. eBay do not authenticate the movement!!!!!!

How do you ensure the watch is authentic?

@@kasiosag I am a watch maker so experience. For those that are not in the trade, every fake has tells. No matter how good they claim to be or are. Rolex are the most popular fake watch so start with them. Fakes (even super clones) cannot get every bit of the movement correct, nor can they get the finishing to the same level. Get use to either having a real authenticated model to refer to, or if you don't have access research pictures. Once you become accustomed, it really is very easy. Even with the so called super clones. If you think you may have a Franken watch then things are more difficult because the parts are indeed real just not from the same model or watch. Look for the wrong movement in a watch (we see a lot of that). Or perhaps screws that have been deheaded or scratched (another massive giveaway something is wrong). Above all learn which movements go with which model and from which year as they change. For beginners, I'd still do all the checks yourself as its easy to remove a Rolex caseback and gives you experience. Then I would take it to a watch maker to check. Remember other parts like bezels, inserts, dials, bracelets, clasps, hands, crystals crowns and even bracelet screws can also be fake on real watches. Also remember the watch will need to be pressure tested again if you want to take it in the water. Anyone owning a luxury watch should invest in a Rolex case back opener (doesn't need to be expensive), a loupe, some gloves. You don't need Bergeon screw drivers and £500 tweezers to just remove the case back and look at the movement. At the moment, we have three super clone watches sold as real, and two Franken watches where some parts of the watch are either after market or from wrong Rolex models. But in the last week I've also seen a fake PRX that would have fooled most people. I just happen to have the same watch otherwise it could have tripped us up (this isn't a normal PRX by the way). Fakes are getting to the point where they are 90% as good as the real thing, just without the finishing and dust free environment). Be very careful.
