I've been using a waffle recipe for years that just doesn't give me the kind of crunch I like without toasting ti again after they're finished in the waffle maker, so I think I'll definitely give this one a go! It's certainly got several fewer steps and I have no doubt it'll be delicious! I love adding honey and cinnamon into the batter and it give the waffle such a nice warm flavor! And, as a side note, can I just say the fact that you sweeties guessed anything but batter the first few times was absolutely adorable!

Honey will always make your waffles soft, and not crunchy. It is a humectant, and when added to a batter, keeps moisture in...good for muffins and bread, bad for waffles. Waffles only get crunchy when the moisture is driven off of the surface by the hot iron. Leave out eh honey...you'll get crispy waffles!

I tried it, and it was AMAZINGGGG! It also has a nice amount of sugar, not too much. It’s crispy and fluffy too! I’ll definitely be making this again.

I always separate my eggs and beat whites to soft peaks then fold in at end. Makes for very light and fluffy waffles.

Precious boys. I always make the batter the night before, and refrigerate. I find the waffles to be fluffier. It was by accident that I have been doing this. I was having a brunch and guests where late arriving, so the batter sat for a period of time so I put the 1st batter in refrigerator and made a new one. The 1st was much better.

I’m positive this recipe is delicious, but my favorite waffles continue to be the yeast-risen variety-not Belgian style; I use a regular waffle iron. The only downside is that the batter must be prepared the night before so the yeast can do its thing.
