The voice is a special instrument. It can be used in all sorts of ways with all types of intentions. But what makes it so special is its human nature. Although other instruments are able to translate human emotions through sound, the voice is human expression in its rawest form. In this video, Annette Phillips talks about all the different ways you can approach your voice in singing. She emphasizes the importance of lyrical interpretation, but also goes into depth about creative techniques you can use to find the sound you want (be it a darker or brighter tone, a subtle or explicit energy). This video comes from the Berklee Online course, Music Production Analysis, authored by Stephen Webber, and featuring Annette Philip.

YES YOU ARE TOTALLY RIGHT ABOUT INDIAN MUSIC. BEFORE TECHNOLOGY PEOPLE USED TO TUNE THEIR INSTRUMENT BY CIRCLE OF FIFTH, BUT WE INDIAN TUNE OUR VOCAL IN AN OCTAVE WITH "OM". TRY this word to tune your vocal . people use this word meditate their mind but we can use it for our vocal tuning
