Best Vegetable Choppers - Slicers, Dicers, & Processers
We rounded up all the top selling vegetable choppers and chop onions, garlic, tomatoes, we slice carrots, celery and more. Visit our website for the full results: www.cookwarejunkies.com/best-.... This video summarizes our testing experiences and we name the best food chopper on the market - for better or worst.
“It slices, it dices, it makes julienne fries” - the iconic sales tagline made famous in marking of the famous food processing appliance, the Veg-O-Matic. The phrase has become a punchline and the product name has been spun into spoofs from SNL (Super Bass-O-Matic 76
), Gallarger’s Sledge-O-Matic even a song written by Shel Silverstein and sung by Steve Goodman titled “Vegematic”. So, have these choppers and slicers evolved? Are they any better than the granddaddy of dicing or are we looking at the adage, “the more things change the more they remain the same”?
We’re here to find out if any of these things are worth owning, or if you should just pull out that knife and cutting board.
Here’s the lineup:
Chef’n
Fullstar
Once For All
Mueller
Fullstar Master
Ultra Chef Express
OXO Good Grips
Mueller Ultra
Brieftons Express
Black & Decker
Sedhoom 23 in 1
Here’s our timeline:

The current top selling veggie dicer is the Fullstar. They have various models, including a line dedicated to chopping and another designed to be an all-in-one. We also wanted to make sure to include the classic mandoline style of slicer; the top selling unit here is the Mueller. Lastly, we grabbed four food processor style choppers; all these models were manually operated except for the Black & Decker which was electric.
With a wide range of these devices we set out to not only answer the question of do these things actually work but which of these styles or products would be the best to purchase.
Our testing revealed a wide range of performance results - most of it bad - uneven chopped onions and garlic, smashed tomatoes, and devices that required instrumental force to operate. Parley it with the prerequisite of needing to prep most of the veggies with a knife and cutting board, then clean the unit once you’re done; it was challenging to find a silver lining - but it was there. We list our top picks at the end, but watch the complete video to get a close look at our experience with these products.

I was about to buy one. And then I saw the video and it changed my mind. Thank you for honest review.
Love the reviews and love the dry, caustic humor. Keep it up guys!
Really good information. Thanks for testing the different styles of choppers. I love the chemistry you you guys have. Great job!!
I just used my FullStar chopper for the first time yesterday and I love it. I'm legally blind, so dicing is hard for me.
They are hilarious. I kept laughing. Dry humor is the best lol
Thanks. You guys seem so honest and I appreciate that.
Funny and informative! I love that you guys also talk about storage.
This is great, you really know its an honest review when out of perhaps a doz choppers only 1 is considered worth buying. That chopper is one of the few I can get in Australia and is the type of chopper I'm considering. Btw, clearly the blade on those mandolins were not sharp enough. like with knives, a sharp blade is a safe blade. The sharper the blade is, the less pressure required to cut, the less pressure required, the more control you have. This is equally true for mandolins, they are safe if the blades are really sharp and take minimal resistance to slice. The mandolin I have slices easily but it is mostly stainless steel with blade plastic sides and cost quite a lot but it works and its easy to clean though does tend to cut int the dish cloth or brush your cleaning it with.
Great, great review. Thanks for your honesty.
I bought one and am happy and surprised. I have a couple blenders that overkill what I need to do to vegetables. I have a problem chewing. Meaning lettuce, celery, pepper, etc can be difficult to the point I don't eat them, until now. The lawnmower allows me to reduce them enough that I can enjoy them enough. Without blending them to mush. Lawnmower - 5-6 pulls for salad. 8-9 pulls for omelettes. Easy to use and clean. And i can enjoy salads and omelettes again.
Exactly what I was looking for! Love your humor! Tysm!
like the vid. guy really put in his feedback with small moments of subtle jokes. little more fun. good job
nicely reviewed. best part was all were honest reviews and took the cleaning part into consideration
Love your honest reviews. Made me laugh.
Thanks guys. Ur video was great and saved me lots of money
Love the honest reviews!!
Finally honest reviews thanks
Just became your 1000th follower, keep up with the great work!
Great job sir explained perfectly
Excellent demonstration
Good review. Straight to the point, gave me a good idea of what these things are actually like and how frustrating or easy they are.
LOL The whole point is to make it EASIER. If a big guy like you has trouble with the slicer, I imagine it would be quite a workout for a small guy like me. All I want to do is dice my onions, garlic and tomatoes.
Thanks for that video guys :)
Really honest reviews.
For me, it's the ceremony of cutting vegetables with a knife that counts. It's like the Japanese tea ceremony, it's not the tea that's important but the ceremony. Of course, if you're trying to get it done as fast as possible, then that's a whole different story. 😀
So the good ol knife still wins😂🤣😂

leave it to the cookware junkies to have the exact video im looking for
once for all lol loved it
The next time somebody tells me I'm ruining the planet because I don't compost my vegetable peelings, I'm going to tell them to go after the companies which produce these useless products instead.
Great video.. I was about to purchase the chopper but I don't want the annoying cleaning and yes my board and knife is out already... Think I will do what my mom did... DO IT MYSELF.. Thank you.. you saved me 50 bux..
I just bought a Mueller Pro-Series 10-in-1. It slices and dices!
Excellent effort, but the fact that you were using the mandolin slicer wrongly makes me question the reliability of your conclusions. A tool is only useful when you know how to use it.

what do you mean
@senthiljams

@@thesage1096 you need to use the mandolin slicer while pushing the hand away from your body, like doing karate chops. In your demo, it seems like you are deliberately using the slicer at an awkward angle to show it as a con. You can check any mandolin slicer demos and reviews, nobody uses the slicer at an angle that you do.

Kinda clear none of these machines sponsor you. LOL Very good video. BTW - I had already put the little red lawnmower in my Amazon cart. Seems to be a good choice, based on this video. Thank you.
My favourite kitchen mandolin is the Borner V slicer.
So, just stick to knife and cutting board? 😁 Nice reviews. Thanks for discussing storage and other practical issues.
Thanks! Try the mandoline from Börner, outstanding!
You don't review the Vidalia Chopper. It's the BOMB! You slice your veggies the 'thickness' you like and chop them. I've never had a problem cleaning it. Simply run water on the reverse side and the pieces generally fall off. For the 'pusher' the comb really does work well. I have no problems with it at all. I LOVE IT and I break that puppy out every time I have a lot of onions to chop.

Can we slice onion in thin round shape and dice onion with that?
Thanks for the honesty. I have the Mueller push-down style. POS in my opinion. Ridiculous to clean.
I would like to see push Mandolin vs leaver Mandolin sold on Amazon. Right now got farberware one that goes on top stainless bowl
I was hoping to get some advice on this video, and it was useful, but I need some thing for cutting thick slices of potato (or thick French fries) that I can then make into cubes for soup and that sort of thing and thinner slices for fried potatoes, etc. I’m 77 and my fingers locked up on me because of arthritis when I try to grip a paring knife or peeler to peel and cut harder vegetables like potatoes and turnips, and I have very little strength in my shoulders and arms. I found an affordable electric peeler, which does an okay job for me, but then I have a hard time cutting up the potatoes, turnips, etc. I try not to make anything where I’m using potatoes, turnips, carrots, etc, but once in a while I like to make vegetable soup and other recipes that are best made with raw vegetables instead of canned. Some things I can get pre-cut in the produce section, but not potatoes and turnips. Any suggestions for a cutter/slicer for an elderly person?
That reviewer guy was comical.
is the fullstar as good as the austria's mueller when it comes to build quality? I've heard of amazon reviews of blade bending or chipping, i really wouldn't want that on my food!
Great Job - Real HUMANS, not some robot ChatGPT review BS. Thank You.
🤣🤣🤣 you guys are so funny
Much thanks!!! Saved me from making another worthless gadget.
I had the Fullstar but handling the blades for washing, I always cut myself, and those are deep cuts. It's super sharp. Otherwise it works well. BTW< I always slice my onions into 1/2 slices before putting on the blades. Then super easy to dice
that's an honest opinion
Thanks for saving me a bunch of cash!
As you review each product the name should come across the screen to identify it to put it in my memory
so helpful as i have no hand strength
Your not using the mandolin right.
You need to get the Surpahs_X-Cut_Chopper ... it is the only one I've seen work ... and at a very reasonable price -- but it is out of production because of all the crappy products that do not work.
I loooove my all in one chopper but it definitely has issues. Cleaning it is a pain, you can’t buy replacement parts, the plastic breaks because you have to apply a lot of pressure on it
So what is the best potato dicer to get? Thanks
I do not agree with your comments on cleaning the grid dicer. I have had 2 and will buy another for my condo. You can clean them easily with a dish brush from Ikea. I have osteoarthritis in both hands. Not a problem to push down. I use both hands. Would not do without.
One silver lining, your hands and arms get a good workout 🏋️ lol

@@angel0fangelsangel504 yes, please search for the product on Amazon. Originally it's $50 but I paid $30 for it. It's a life saver for me. I am on a weight loss journey and eating healthy is the most important key in making it a success because a tool like this helps saves me time on food preparation. I love adding Pico De Gallo on my omelettes and lean ground meats for flavor but it's tedious dicing an onion and 5 tomatoes. I have lost 20 pounds in body fat and gain 5-10 pounds of muscle in 5 months lifting 6 times a day with intermittent fasting 2-3 meals a day 8/16! u need momentum to use mandalin and if u just use brute force it wont work
What about Pico de gallo?
You didn't demonstrate the Mueller chopper, which I wanted to see. But that's OK after seeing you wrongly use a mandolin slicer, sorry.
a decent knife and a chopping board is the winner. :-)
That Mueller mandolin style slicer works fantastically, You two obviously have no idea how to use it. I slice potatoes, cucumbers, etc. paper thin with way less effort than you demonstrate. Maybe you should learn to use the tools before you rate them. Useless video.

Those food processors suck ... they are totally crappy.
Why review Junk.. ?! Unless your PAID
You were reviewing too many products at the same time. It was tough to figure out which product you were talking about and some seemed to get confused with others. How about 3 or 4 head to head evaluations, and remove them after they are reviewed.
is that the comic book dealer from the Simpsons? Worst.review.ever. Just kidding
This is the worse review ever. Demo the actual products, don't just talk about them!

@storr601 NO.... nooo, ugh.... I ABSOLUTELY HAVE!!! Worked with a girl that talked to my forehead... she was very nice, drive me insane. This is how i know that i personally can not stand that in a person. Sorry not sorry. I'm sure he is nice and all.... I just have an issue with it, and I'm not upset by the fact that i do. It is what it is. I prefer looking people in the eye and being looked in the eye when talked to. If someone was that uncomfortable to filmed, don't film them! They trying to promote a dam product... they should of had someone else more equipped to handle.

I sensed that the guy looking around...was maybe uncomfortable with or didn't like the other guy's negative reviews, and that is why he couldn't look the other guy in the face. He was probably thinking that a few of the choppers actually work well or ok. Also I do find you have a valid point. Last week when someone walked in and cheerfully said good morning to me as they always do, I noticed I had to turn away from them and cheerfully say good morning to them. I couldn't look at them because well I'm so....I will use this word... "disappointed" .... in them because of some of their actions. This person has fallen from grace and still hasn't learned a lesson. Anyway thanks for the giving me the opportunity to say it because honestly I have to be cordial. I will select either the oxy, the Once and for All, they seem very safe, or the Fullstar.
