@@Fronti1971 I’m not sure sorry, I think it’s the 800 as the shimano app has DU800 next to the motor, so guessing that means it’s the 800 👍

@@Lee-ic2yn Honestly, yes and no. How can you not enjoy the power and battery life of the full fat!? That’s the trade off with the Trek Fuel Exe. But I do feel more confident/comfortable on the Trek going down, but I’m still getting used to the Canyon to be fair. I’m lucky to have both of course!

That is a sweet looking bike. Is that a 35mm length Kash Bronze stem?

The Canyon stem, is composite, so is the lighter stem.

hi, could you let me know what is the max weight permitted that came in the frame sticker?

Sorry, I can’t see any sticker on the frame that says max weight, I may well have removed it, Canyon website may well have that info, sorry again I can’t help. Only sticker left on my frame is a QR code that gives the frame serial number.

I got the spectral on this year and it is 160mm lyrik. Have they changed it? Or you got a diff model?

@@Cibi-nc7yb This bike has fox 36 on it but I have a 160mm Lyrik on my Trek and that fork is awesome, if you can get the ultimate with the charger damper 3 👌

im 172cm with 81cm inside leg length. What Size do you think will fit for me (For Canyon Spectral:ON)? S or M ? (with S i cant use the 900w)

You’re probably in between, would have though medium okay with your inside leg measurement. Canyon suggest on their website “size up for stability or down for agility”. I can’t really improve on that advice 👍

Hi, your comment on sizing? Seems that dropper is fully slammed on the frame. What is your height and bike size?

It’s a bit more faff with Canyon but still very doable 👍 I had to file down the little spikes on their top cap to use my own headset spacers.

Do you find the same value on the Spectral ON CFR? Is it worth the upgrade?

One last question if I may. Which one would you rather, Spectral ON CFR or Santa Cruz 2023 Bullit. Spectral has 900wh and Santa Cruz 630wh? More power with less equipment or less power with superior components?

@@pacanton Good question, both epic bikes, I'd go Spectral still, I prefer the geo, and the range on the 720wh battery is crazy, so on the 900wh, that must be insane!

@@belekasas1 I’m 183cm and get on well with the large personally, but it’s rider preference of course my friend 👍 It’s a long bike though, doesn’t fit on my friends bike rack and he’s got a large full enduro 29er that does fit (for context) 👍

whats that terrible high frequency noice beside the normal motor noice starting at 4:01 ? You can hear it while the whole climp untill you've finsihed in 4:26. As you started rollin its gone. Is that a normal EP8 noice or is somethin wrong with the bike ?

Yup, that’s the motor noise when it’s using full power, bike was brand new then so no fault, still makes this noise now, but only when using the full power. It’s normal for me, but if other riders have a different experience with the EP8 then feel free to comment also 👍

@@ForestMountainBiker I also have a Canyon Ebike but the Neuron ON. Here it sounds exactly the same, although its an alloy frame. The sound on my bike is also appearing at low power support. I tried to find to contact EP8 bikers from other brands but so far I could only find this problem on Canyon EP8 owners. I was in contact with antother Neuron On owner and confirmed that he also had the noice on his bike until he sold it. The sound never changed and lived with till the end. Canyon itself doesn't know about this issue and asked me to go in a repair shop. Lets see what they can find.

@@Aviator9012 Interesting, I just assumed it was normal. My mate Mike has the EP8RS in his Orbea Rise and it’s not quite as loud but has a whine and a rattle like mine when we climb together. Do let me know if you find out more, maybe Canyon play with the tuning on the motors..? 👍

So far I can give the following update. The mechanic said between the engines there is great scatter - they’re different loud but sound basically similar. In my case, in his opinion, I probably got a loud one or more precisely the loudest he has ever heard. He is of the opinion that the problem is the freewheel and I should move the engine now 150km intensively. If it is not quieter then he will be replace the engine free of charge. In parallel, I'm trying to test a bike with EP8 so I get a feel for how quiet it really goes. My big fear is that the engine after the exchange is still too loud. I'll keep you up to date.

Canyon had a ‘trail sale’ on the site and was reduced to £4500 approx, think it came to £4650 with the box/shipping/etc. The next week the price went up to the £5200 approx it is now.
