Whip is as inexpensive as it gets for a new bike with full ChroMo, fully sealed, and double rims. Good enough for me :D

I rode a kink launch for about a month and bent the handlebars, the fork, and put a hole in the back rim. I needed a 2021 version of this video lol. The bike shop gave me 150 bucks back for it to use towards a new bike. Your comments verify everything I had to learn ( relearn ) the hard way. (I haven't rode since Dan's Comp was more of a mail order catalog and less of a website). Nothing against Kink, I just didn't to the research. Great video

I was 🤏🏻 this close to doing the same thing with a Haro. I quit riding around 2002. I got the Dans Comp catalogs back then, too. Back then the goal was to always have a Haro. So that’s where I headed to look for my first bike in 20 years. Almost pulled the trigger on a Haro Downtown DLX figuring, you know, it’s a Haro so it’s gotta be good! Luckily I decided I should probably do at least a little research before spending the money. So glad I did cuz that Haro definitely would not have lasted. I now landed on a 2022 Kink Whip. For the money, it seems like it can’t be beat! Can’t wait to get it!

It also looks like the switch has a better front hub and a coaster vs cassette which is worth the extra couple bucks.

Awesome value for the Williams

So I have up to 1k to spend. Looking to buy a complete bike I guess that is at least the kink whip quality.. I want to do street and park.. maybe some dirt.. nothing to crazy just a mid level rider not looking to be pro lol. Would you suggest kink as the best brand to buy and the whip as the most ideal option or are there other brands and models I could be getting better deals with? Thank you Your video is great by the way.

It will last you some time for sure and how long it lasts will depend on what you do with it. Full send off big drops and other gnarly things might make it not last as long as just casually riding around would

planning to buy the kink curb. getting back on riding again. is it any good for beginner?

It is below what I recommend for committing to really learning to ride bmx, but will be okay for a period of time. I always recommend a full chromoly frame fork and handlebar with sealed hubs and double walled rims.

KOOK EMERGENCY HELP: Should i get a used 20' Kink Switch if im 6'5 tall????? Any help would be incredible! Dont see a lot of XL options online, and the extra inch doesnt seem to crazy, but idk.

Whip XL would probably serve you better. 6'5 is extremely tall for a shorter bike

I’m almost positive the Williams and the Cloud do not have aftermarket frames. My friend emailed Kink last year and the 2021 model did not have an aftermarket frame. Subrosa does the same thing with the Novus. They use a frame with the same or similar geometry and use the same stickers as the aftermarket frame.

I think you might be right about the Williams. Haven’t looked at the cloud one yet but that’s interesting. I’d guess that the frame has to be close in quality

What’s wrong with the Gap? Getting back into BMX after 15+ years and even after watching this video, I’m thinking of getting the Gap. Any issues you’ve encountered?

It’s not full 100% chromoly frame, has an unsealed front hub, and single walled rims. Not the worst thing every but just not what I recommend for longevity long term in a complete bike
