What would cost?

Had this (and disc brakes) added to our Landmark and it is a game changer! Everyone there was so nice and accommodating! First class facility!

This IS not only smooths out the ride but helps lowering maintenance costs not only on the RV but everything else in it, like the appliances, furniture, etc. since it does get jarred as much.

We had Kodiak disk brakes with heavy duty shackles placed on our 5th wheel by a certified performance trailer braking installer. The camper can stop the truck in a parking lot. The best safety upgrade ever. We still have and use our 5th wheel. It's a 13 yr old Heartland 35 foot toyhauler with an added 2 foot patent part toyhauler extender, so its now 37 feet. With a cash discount it was 46 thousand out the door, not including the extension we added years later. We truly love our 5th wheel, the one and only we will ever buy. I love watching your channel and the great content you bring to all of us.

We had the ISP installed three months ago and it’s been the Best install we’ve done. I recommend to all!!!

We have had our IS installed a year and a half ago. 40k miles later it is still one of the best upgrades we have ever done. Well worth it!!

Greatest thing I have done is morryde IS and axles and disc brakes. Unfortunately only do it if your keeping it for a long time, cause you can’t get the financial value back when u sell

Great video JD!!! Would love to see Morryde come out with a short comprehensive video on the operation and maintenance of the IS system!!! They have a few videos, but lack someone explaining it. I have to manual on it and it is not contain the necessary information and the “how to” on performing it. 👍😃🍻

We added IS and disk brakes to our Reflection 315RLTS travel trailer 3years ago. Best money I’ve ever spent on an RV. By the way, we’ve been RVing for about 45 years.

Great video, however I must disagree. I found that almost every major OEM suspension is complete BS and surprises me that they are even passable/safe. Every RV I’ve had over the years was underrated with axle, tires, and components. My current 5th wheel has a GVWR of 16,000 almost, but comes with 7k axles. Tires were load range E and just barely meets the loaded weight.

I tried to get this up-grade scheduled after broken springs and shackles shut us down three or four times on our Solitude and found they are so far out on being able to do it we just moved on and are getting a new Brinkley in a few weeks. Burlington Bill busking on the road and here on You-Tube!

Depending on your weight, look at the Timbren silent ride it also eliminates the spring hangers and a fraction of the cost.

New Horizons can do the install as well.

Speaking as someone who just got MORrde independent and disc brakes back in October 2022, I fully support having independent suspension and would do it again. I will recommend two very important items though without getting into the details of a few scary problems we had. Make absolutely sure MORryde knows well in advance how heavy your GVWR is so that the proper spring tension is installed and/or adjusted (very important). This needed to be corrected for us in April 2023 and excuses were made even though I know I was lied to about the cause. These issues could have potentially been very dangerous for us and we know of at least two other people that this happened too as well. All three were installed in the same three days. I am sure there must be others though. We have a 20,000lbs. GVWR on a three-axle Grand Design Momentum and they swapped out the spring or spring tension and replaced all 6 brake calipers from Hydrastar to Dexter brake system. The Hydrastar brakes were not the problem and this I know for a fact. Let's just say, I was shown exactly what the problem was. MORryde welds metal tabs on the frame (front and back sides of each wheel - 12 in my case) for the jig to install the independent suspension, as the shop manager told me. Those tabs absolutely need to be removed after the installation is completed as they could easily interfere with the brake caliper's up-and-down motion on the wheels, potentially knocking said calipers off their caliper mounts and even breaking the caliper mounts as well. Normally, I would not post any of this but I was ignored when I highly recommended that others should be notified of these issues so that they are not put in danger. I was ignored completely! Again, we love our MORryde independent suspension and would do it again but questions need to be asked and answered. They did reimburse us for our costs (minus the hotel) but this should have been escalated to executive leadership as I requested three times in emails so that it could be addressed at higher level than just the shop manager. Personally, this was just a bad installation with a lot of finger-pointing at the wrong person. Fingers should have been pointing in the mirror! People make mistakes and I understand that but when you point fingers at others that were not the cause, then you have an integrity issue with yourselves. Again, I still highly recommend I.S. and disc brakes but just be aware and make sure you test your trailer brakes before leaving from anywhere.

Wouldn't they just go off the GVWR on the unit label? I had the system installed on my Seismic 4212 a little over a year ago and the only decision I had to make was to do 7k or 8k rated suspension. BTW I do love mine, as well.

@@loydstephenson89 Yes, one would think so but when they decided to replace all the brake calipers with Dexters and then tell me they need to increase the spring or tension. That alone leads me to believe the previous spring or tension was not enough for our 20,000 GVWR because the calipers were hitting the metal jig tabs that were welded on the frame. As I said, it was an installation that was not done correctly as two others that I personally know of, experienced (both the same day installations as I). I found out about another person online through Instagram but he never got back to me so I don't know what his outcome was.

One other thing was I asked if I should initially have the 8k I.S. but they did not recommend it and said the 7k was fine. That is in spite of having 3 axles and 20k GVWR.

@@WestsontheMove yeah I went with 7k too because that was the rating on the axles that came on mine. I already had disc brakes, so they just R/R them on the new IS

Just got mine done, Morryde is amazing. Top notch service. Our install was completed in 1 day how did they do that?

I was scheduled to do this in November of last year. Price got so high that we finally canceled.

With the additional components creating increased travel for the wheels, does the entire trailer become taller? So many 5th wheels are already so dangerously close to 13.5 feet tall.

If your axle goes out of alignment going over railroad tracks, unless your going over high speed, then that is one junk axle.

How much weight does this system add to the GVW?

Sumo Springs make more sense for most.

If it’s so great (and I think it is) why don’t the manufacturers install this as standard equipment? With that many going on coaches the price would come down significantly on them.

How about installing 4 x (in-hub) electric motors? I want to go off road and I need the extra traction. The motors must have around 2000Nm of torque and only rev to about 300 RPM maximum speed (wheel turns)

How about a comparison to Kelderman air suspension?

Very nice suspension upgrade. Hey JD. I have a 5th wheel towing question. We bought a 2011 GMC Sierra 3500HD Denali crew cab dually with the LML 6.6 Duramax. We will be buying a 20k B&W Companion 5th wheel for the truck. We are also adding an over the bed tonneau cover that will sit above the rails about 1-1/2 inches. How much space should you have between the bed rails and the overhang on the trailer? Thanks in advance.

JD, you have the system in the thumbnail, but went through the entire video without actually showing us the suspension. @9:30, you tried to show us briefly, but with no lighting, we really couldn't see it. Please do a follow up and show us the system. Thanks.

Just curious, but does anyone use Moreride equipment during their build instead of using lower quality items?

Riverstone Legacy offers it as an upgrade option from the factory as well. I ordered it on my 442MC I’ll be picking up next week from RV Nation. Ordered the 5th wheel in January and finally ready for pick up in May.
