I refuse to buy anything Konami makes after they let that slip right out of their greedy hands

Paranormal tales being through a dirty fish eye lens could make it incredibly scary. I'm excited for Routine for the robot horror like fnaf animatronics. Unrecord looks crazy good graphics style but I wonder if it's just about catching drug abusers. That graphics style could lead to some absolutely scary games.

Maybe it is just me: We have "horror" with Slender Man, zombies, dinosaurs, we have horror in space, and - of course - paranormal horror. Though some of the visuals are real dope, the games come along as a bit, hm, "stale". I mean - anything new? Some fresh ideas? Something beyond endless sequences of jump scares? Unfortunately I don't see too much new content.

I'm honestly just waiting for someone to remake F.E.A.R. in a current engine. That game gave nightmares back then. I could only imagine what it would be like now.

Slender man the arrival was pretty good i thought. With just the spooky environment alone! Where it feels like your being watched constantly. And i guess you are in a way. Seeing him way off in the distance standing there. They can make more of these now in 2023 that should be badass! And the top scariest games around! If they do it right and no cheesy half assing things. It looks like there onto something?

Apparently the only thing monsters can do anymore is scream at you... what happened to actual scary enemies?

I also think monsters silently staring and sneaking up towards you can be scarier than monsters roaring and screaming while jumping out, mainly because we are so used to seeing monsters roaring at you in all kinds of horror media it becomes less scary when you are used to it, while silently staring monsters are more rare and that makes them more scary.

*ROUTINE* it's the one!! Waiting for that since the very first teasers years ago, then it was cancelled (or at least i thought it was), and now hopefully back. *_Fort Solis_* it's also interesting. Edit: we lost a very good possible horror in game nobody talks about anymore, Allison Road, cancelled in 2017.

I loved silent hill games, I will try this remake and hope it will be as good as original Silent Hill 2.

Is all the innovation and originality going into indie titles? Some of these titles seeming to contain totalitarianism, loneliness, isolation, pain, suffering, disillusioned/disenchanted, feelings of hopelessness, drowning. They look like games to make me for feel when I first played Bioshock.

I find those sort of games more scary compared to most other horror games/ settings. Something about walking around a photo-realistic environment/ house is more terrifying for me, dunno why

Seems like there are already plenty of indie horror games that let you walk back and forth in an empty house/apartment, etc. I genuinely don't know what this trailer was hoping to accomplish.

Silent Hill 2 Remake is what I'm excited for. There are a lot of really good potential games. But there are a couple that look like they are being made for the PS3 or XBOX 360.

Even without the on-screen notification, there's no mistaken Akira Yamaoka doing the music on Stray Souls. The graphics itself already gave me a Silent Hill feel, the music even more.

@@MatthewHart-td3ez I doubt that when this games is not even out yet i think it will more likely be for the new next gen cpu and gpu by the time we get this in 4k and ray tracing maxed out smooth as butter. Wishful thinking 4090 out of the question look how the 3080 and 3090ti is now useless for 4k with ray tracing in proper full ultra settings with the new games today it even had problems trying to run the new halo game in 4k and that didn't have ray tracing and the new dying light 2 game alson with quake 2 in 4k with ray tracing maxed out. Yes you needed the great 4090 for that game to show it of to how it should be played with the full capability of ray tracing. The 4090 will soon get obsolete very fast it wont be as powerful than you think it is when these games come out. Also it cant handle cyberpunk full extrema ray tracing maxed out in 4k going by reviews. The industry will want these games to force players yet again to buy there new $2000 gpu to play these next gen games liked they promise when they bought out there 3080 and 90 cards but where was the new next gen games we didn't really get them as there coming out now lol

Exp War Trauma? I know plenty will make fun but; they could be on to something very clever Give the right aesthetics (heavy breathing, ominous audio etc) something besides the paranormal REALLY dive into actual PTSD from war-it “could” be incredible. Dunno, make :a box somehow terrifying, damn thing is ticking :cabbage from the grocery are severed heads :a damn flash back where you’re shooting up “soldiers” but :don’t take certain meds on time you risk “opting out”-I dunno W/a good story arc around the individual & family, maybe what they’ve “done”… Issue is, naming it Exp War Trauma-too on the nose?-you’d want the player/audience to piece together as you go And the obvious; so far, walking around a somewhat decrepit apartment…&…yes? (W/time & creativity though, could actually be onto something fresh)

And we get the first unreal 5 game. Remnant 2 with an internal resolution of 720p that looks super soft upscaled by unreal engine 5, and a frame rate of 24-60 wow fantastic. I guess when you take away the tech demos running on beastly PCs you get a game that needs, AI, game logic, UX, and it looks meh and runs even worse.

Glad to see some devs realizing nothing compares to first person for immersion. First person puts YOU in the game. 3rd person is u watching yourself control a puppet. Could care less what I look like in the game. I care about gameplay, story, seeing more of the world on my monitor, & graphics. More of that plz, instead of 20 different pairs of shoes, jackets, and hats to wear.

No, 1st person might be better for immersion but story driven game needs to be 3rd person to emotionally connect you to the character you're playing. There's a reason why most of the characters that you're playing as in a 1st person game are bland and little to depth and are "supposed to represent the player"

How do you watch yourself control a “puppet”? Unless you can astral project yourself outside of your own body, you just control your character… also, first person limits your field of view to what’s directly in front of you. You see less of the world because of it! Not to mention the gameplay in first person games basically consists of a pair of arms and hands flailing around.
