One of the Holy Albums in Grime from the man himself
Dizzee produced the beats for this if i recall correctly

If you want more early Grime albums then Wiley - Treddin on thin ice should be next! same year as this Dizzee album, these were Grime tracks before it was even called Grime, There is a track on Wiley's album Treddin on thin ice called 'wot do u call it' which says it all. It also has a couple of features from Kano & Tinchy.
Need to do some more Grime albums very soon any Wiley, Ghetts, Kano, Devlin, Jme and Skepta's 🔥🔥
Another album to check out is Ghetto's (Ghetts) first album 2000 & life 🔥i've just been re-listening to it
20 years has gone so fast! 😯 as others have said you should react to some of the other Grime OGs albums. Wiley debut album was treddin on thin ice Kano's debut album home sweet home Ghetts/ghetto debut album was 2000 & life Check out their later albums as well 👍
Great reaction guys, this is why Dizzee is one of the OG's along with Wiley, Kano etc, my favourites on this as well as sittin here, Fix up etc is definitely We ain't havin it & ready 4 war! Other albums from around this time is Wiley - Treddin on thin ice ( from 2004 ) Should check out more of his recent albums godfather 1, 2 & 3 too. Kano = Home Sweet Home (from 2005) 140 Grime St ( 2008 ) Any Ghetts album Devlin - Bud Sweat & beers, A Moving Picture, Tales from the crypt mix tape Any from Akala More tracks from Dizzee - Space. Couple of stacks, & Pagans.
Good to see this getting reacted to, maybe also react to Treddin on thin ice - Wiley, plus his godfather albums. Famous - JME Home sweet Home - Kano

Adding some checks!!
Wileys album Treddin on thin ice was the same year as this so should react to that too :)
Excellent!! 💛 Dizzee! . Definitely have to check out more albums! heres some to give a few ideas. Kano's home sweet home album is great. He has also released Beats and bars in 05, London Town in 07, 140 Grime Street in 08 Method to the maadness in 2010, Made in the manor in 2016 and Hoodies all summer 2019 Wiley's released 15 albums to name a few, Treddin on thin ice, Playtime is over, Race against time, Grime wave, Evolve or be extinct, The Godfather, The Godfather 2, The Godfather 3, 100% publishing. JME released an album called famous in 08 then Blam in 2010, Integrity in 2015 and Grime MC in 2019 Some of Skepta's albums include Microphone Champion, Konnichiwa, Ignorance is bliss. Some of Ghetts albums are 2000 & life, Freedom of speech, The Calm before Storm, Rebel with a cause, Ghetto Gospel, Ghetto Gospel the new testament, Momentum 2, Conflict of Interest, On purpose with a purpose. Devlin's The Art of rolling, Bud, sweat and beers, Tales from the crypt, A moving picture, The devil in. The outcast.
It's not a skepta sound. It's the proper original grime sound. I understand why you'd say that as there's only a few that still use the old sample sounds.
Should also check out the Roll Deep album with “celebrate” and “people don’t know” on it, can’t remember the title but was a banger too, and as others have said Wiley’s treading on thin ice 🧊

Can see their reaction to the beats, absolutely love it! We have been inspired by the US rap scene for years but created something new, amazing to see you vibe to it as we did. wayy back lol classic this
Also you should react to Kanos albums 140 Grime St and Home sweet home
Last tune is Dizzee with Nasty Crew, Kano, Ghetts and Demon was in that Crew.
You guys are mans of culture I see. Drinking la chouffe from my country. Love from Belgium!🇧🇪
Love Dizzee, saw him last summer ❤️ Everyday I sing ‘you’ve got the love’ he did with Florence and The Machine to my kids. Gives me goosebumps that song does

This was so legendary to the UK scene.
This album is super grimey. I'm surprised you even understand what he's saying because of his thick accent 😂
After hearing this Flea from Red Hot Chilli Peppers got Dizzee supporting them. It blew his mind

Dizzy made this whole ting by himself using fruityloops when he was 16! He was one of those that pioneered that classic grime sound, skepta just built on that sound
Got this Album takes me back, 2003 I was 14 and killing the Dizzee Album. Feeling old 😂

And Dizzee produced the majority of this Album.
Some of these beats and rhymes were from when dizzee was 15, most of the tunes on the album are from when he was 16. This is still the best grime album
Mad to think this is 20 something years old now
Boy in the Corner was the true begining of Grime, it was the first time a grime album was truely everywhere, barber shops, blaring from bedroom windows or backgardens, cars driving passed, someones headphones leaking on the bus or train. We had a music teacher at our Secondary School (high school) and he would always play" I Luv U" at lunch break. Boy In the Corner would be a highlight musical memory from most teenagers in the UK during the 00's. Dizzie Rascal, Skepta, Ghetto, Wiley, Sharky Major were all friends at one point, they were all producing beats and going to pirate radios sets together, Wiley made a soundpack on Fruityloops called Eskimo and with the beatpack they all produced this similar sound and began making music under XL Recorings, after Dizzies first album the beefs began and Wiley was made to leave XL Recordings, maybe the best thing for grime because everyone went in their own direction and grime was spread back to underground rather than all under one label were everyone came up as independant artists or to smaller labels.
such a dope album. a uk classic for sure
This is sick, vinyl set up is spot on. Well done lads 👏🏾
Am enjoying this album and you guys’s reaction/comments. Will complete this listen a bit later. I dont know much about grime other than I enjoy it. Does anyone know if there’s a correlation between grime and uk bass? It’s making me want to pull out kode9, swamp 81, youngsta and friends
@taoi
2 ай бұрын
Yeah def a correlation. Kode9 and Youngsta were two of the earliest dubstep DJs and most of the producers on Swamp81 were dubstep or post-dubstep at some point. Both grime and dubstep came out of UK garage as it got darker and weirder around 2000, and they both usually put the accent on the third beat of the bar, unlike 2step garage which puts the snare on the 2 and 4. Grime MCs often spit on dubstep beats too. "UK bass" I guess is basically a general term for what came after, keeps evolving

@@taoi thank you so much! I dont live in the UK but I really appreciate these genres 💙.
he made this whole album at school at 15 years old
Creps - trainers (not crepes) Skeng - gun Also, there was a rumour at the time it came out that he made this using Music 2000 on PlayStation 😅
Kano Home Sweet Home Album is a banger to.
my fave beat is the dirrrtyyy bass of "I LUV U"
For a true dizzee rascal experience, u NEED to search dizzee rascal and slimzee set. Just dizzee shelling for over an hour non stop with slimzee on the deck. Doesn't get more grime than that. That's a real recommendation
Yes boys on vinyl too 😊 you know I love my vinyl haha got couple of these on vinyl as singles but only got the album on CD 😮 this was basically the first grime album - before this even singles featuring MCs were rare, it was normally just instrumentals for mix sets and the odd dubplate, this is real grime, scatty beats and dirty bass, pretty sure dizzee used a cracked version of Reason to produce these beats 😂
"He's got a nokia, ill take that..." This was one of the albums I used to rinse during my high school years.
As a teenager listening to UK Garage, when grime started to appear I was really dismissive. But 20+ years later some of the early albums, like this one, have aged very well.

Regarding the track at the end 'Kryme', they mention birdman or someone. I wonder if these guys know dizzee got a tune out with Bun B called where the Gs at . I think that's the sample in this track. You should react to that video gents
Great to see you guys review this legendary album, but I think you played it a little to fast the beat in 'i love you' (best tune) was clipping its self its supposed to be 140bpm.
Shirts made for it and everything, coming correct!
Jhezzzz got the vinyl you lot ain't fucking about
Sittin' Here is still one of the best intros to any Hip-Hop album, UK or US, any era.
Dizzee produced the album along with a few others.
Dizzee made all of these beats!!! A prodigy
The streets , a grand don't come for free
Devlin -Art of rolling is one of the best uk grime albums just incase you wanna check it out bit old skool but you will like it I'm sure
Banging album, can't believe it's 22 year old 😂 you need to try get hold of Kano home sweet home album, probably one of my favourite grime albums of all time 🔥🔥
I will give you a challenge, all of you in the comments - Ghetts - a Little house in Italy officially escaping the misery - what album?
I remember when this album dropped , I was 15, smashed it constantly.. good Times!
Dizzee produced a lot of the tracks here. With help from friends as well i imagine. But a lot of videos from the time he was recording this album shows him actually helping produce a lot of these tracks. It was very independant and made by himself. Pretty sure he made a lot of these tracks from age 14-16 WILD. My favourite song is Jezebel and my favourite beat is Brand New Day
Dizzy and Wiley changed British culture when these early albums hit the street. Check out Skinnyman's Council Estate of Mind. Most under rated British spitter of the last 20 years imo.

Yeaaaa been waiting for this one since the poll. Massive love from the UK guys. Recently found your videos and I've been watching whenever I have spare time. Fascinating to watch your knowledge of the UK scene grow so late. I almost with I could hear all these guys for the first time again.
Gritty grime. Nice for you to hear the EARLY grime sounds and samples etc
Check out oxide and neutrino execute from 2001 you won’t be disappointed , love the channel
Stop dat my favourite beat on there & 2 far FT wiley my favourite song 🔥🔥 DIZZEE WAS AWESOME THOSE DAYS LEGENDARY
A LOT of people forget that Dizzee was originally part of Roll Deep. A grime group that was lead bt Wiley. Grime was Wileys creation and roll deep was his crew and entry to him making a name in the mainstream. So many grime artist have had big careers thanks to Riley and Dizzee is one of them. Roll Deeps big album was called In at the deep end. So many iconic grime artists came out of this group.
Devlin bud sweat & beers album is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 its a must react 👌
Classic 🔥 Huge part of my childhood/teen years. Good reaction as ever my bros ♥️
Streetfighter sample is second half of sf2 chun li ending theme.... If you wanna hear the best beats from grime you have to listen to sets... E.g F radio 5 or jammers birthday

Was Vexed Dizzee talking about the Garage scean because that lot didnt like Wiley and Grime and kept trying to close the events down and then Wiley started Eskimo Dance so all Grime people can get on stage there? I might be wrong.
