BEST TWO-DAY Banff Itinerary | Travel Guide

Here is a quick video that highlights the main sites and attractions that you can enjoy if you only have two days. The video starts in the town of Banff and then ends, in Lake Louise. I hope the two days I have suggested allows you to see as much as possible while still enjoying what you have traveled so far to see.
Please check back during late spring and summer 2024 as I have several substantial videos on Banff, the Icefield Parkway and Jasper National Parks on the way!
Thank you for watching and please SUBSCRIBE for more videos like this.
Some of the main attractions in Banff National Park include:
Lake Louise: Known for its turquoise-colored waters and picturesque setting surrounded by mountains, Lake Louise is one of the most iconic and photographed lakes in the world. Visitors can hike around the lake, rent canoes, or simply take in the breathtaking scenery.
Moraine Lake: Another stunning glacier-fed lake, Moraine Lake offers awe-inspiring views of the Valley of the Ten Peaks. The vivid blue waters combined with the surrounding mountains make it a must-visit spot for photographers and nature enthusiasts.
Banff Townsite: The charming town of Banff serves as the gateway to the national park. It features a variety of shops, restaurants, and accommodation options, as well as cultural attractions like the Banff Park Museum.
Sulphur Mountain: Accessible by gondola or hiking trail, Sulphur Mountain offers panoramic views of the surrounding Rockies and the town of Banff below. At the summit, visitors can enjoy a meal at the restaurant or explore the interpretive exhibits.
Johnston Canyon: This scenic canyon features a series of waterfalls and turquoise pools, accessible via a well-maintained hiking trail. The Lower and Upper Falls are popular destinations, offering opportunities for photography and relaxation.
Banff Upper Hot Springs: Situated near the town of Banff, these natural hot springs offer a relaxing way to unwind after a day of hiking or sightseeing. The mineral-rich waters are heated naturally and provide stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Bow Valley Parkway: This scenic drive offers opportunities for wildlife viewing, with the chance to spot elk, deer, and other animals along the way. It also features several viewpoints and hiking trails, including the popular Johnston Canyon.

Hey Travel Eaz, I have finally been to Banff at the beginning of this month and it was awesome! It was a special winter wonderland and all the sights that you recommended were beautiful. I will definitely come back to Banff for a visit in the summer someday. Jasper and the whole Icefields Parkway were also very much worth it. As highlights I want to mention Johnston Canyon as it was all frozen and looked beautiful, Peyto Lakes observation deck, the top of Sulphur Mountain which was very great and we could also see the aurora lights at Lake Minnewanka. Thanks for the inspiration of doing this trip and all the good recommendations for the spots you have to visit 🙌🏻

Thank you so much for the great follow-up message. I'm so happy that you were able to experience Banff and Jasper - as I mentioned in a previous message I head up there again in 3 weeks. Even though you went at a time when not everything was open, I think you were able to see the parks when they were the most beautiful. It sounds like you saw ALOT!!

Always happy when I see a video drop! How is getting around mid April in general?

Thank you! Mid-April? This year there was more snow than expected so probably not as easy as most Aprils. But even still, April is a good month as things do tend to start warming and the snow begins to melt. I'm heading there in three weeks (mid-May) and I expect it to be pretty nice - although it's still cold in the morning (often below freezing). I hope I answered your question.
