That is amazing.....I enjoy seeing healthy populations of tunas living off the coast of the USA. I don't think most people realize how rare tunas over 250lbs are around Asia, hence why they cost so much there. I just hope the USA doesn't deplete our tuna populations like Asia has.......

Fished tuna out of San Diego in the early 70s in the racks on bamboo.

You don’t realize how huge they are until they are up close !!! I have a huge fear of the ocean ever since my parents took me to see jaws opening weekend lol now even if I am in a pool I hear the theme song to jaws lol

My dad was in the navy during the 60s "JAWS" was the only movie to unnerve him. Said it was because of a ship they'd heard of that went down years earlier & most of the men made it through the boat being blasted or bombed , then made it through the sinking only to endure 4 hours wait time for another ship to pick up the survivors but hardly any men were left as they were all picked off by sharks as they waited for help. Said Jaws was the only movie to ever give him nightmares.

For those who don’t know those are actually juveniles. All tuna caught are juveniles, a full grown tuna? Think very large great white…

Wow big fish

They try to make it seem cool but what you don’t see is the open ocean net pen they have them in. It’s common in the South Pacific. You capture a school in the summer in a big ass net enclosure, then feed them and fatten them up and then draw them in when they are butcher weight. It’s cattle at sea.
