Thank you for this amazing in depth review of these brushes. I have the Escoda versatils, perla's, and a couple of the ultimo's for wash brushes and love the Escodas very much compared to my other brushes (Princeton Neptune's I purchased from a recommendation of another youtuber and honestly I dislike them very much. They just don't have a very sharp point) I just received the new DaVinci Colineo brushes in my latest Jacksons haul and can't wait to try them. (Hopefully I will get some time to sit down and try them out today) I have a LOT of brushes and looking forward to trying out the Esoda Black Set with the Perla dagger....I wish they would sell that one seperately....goodness! 😁 The DaVinci Squirrel brushes are just a no for me too but I love my Silver Black Velvets. It's funny to me how some synthetic squirrel mix brushes have great snap and others well...they're just floppy.

I know what you mean. I have the entire princeton watercolor brush series, especially the neptune. I love the flats with the sea glass handle and certainly used them alot before I got into escoda but they aren't apples to apples at all. Those brushes are more for washes than any details. Their Elite series are better for details but still no comparison to Escoda brushes as Escoda offers more options for details and certainly is made with better quality fibers. I clicked the link and subbed to your site too and following on facebook. I've been loving the Jackson's sales and hope for a brush sale again soon. LOL! Like I really NEED more brushes?? 😆 I want to grab some more travel brushes (tintoretto since I love their liners tremendously) so I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed for a good sale. 🤞

@@thecraftguy21 How large are the paintings? Look at the Encode travel brush sets. The Perla has nice point and lots of snap, they have sets of 6 so you get all sizes or the BLUE set and the RED set is nice with 3 brushes all suited for fine detail. The Versatile style is one that has a fine point in some sizes and holds more water. But for small details you may not need a lot of water as that can make really fine lines less sharp. Escoda makes several synthetic brushes & they are fantastic. The Versatiles are synthetic.

This was super helpful! Thank you so much! It's ashame that they don't sell the rigger/sable travel brushes individually (at least from what I can find). The versatil rigger brush looks super nice! Hope they make a travel version of it. Has your opinion of the brushes changed now when you've had them for some time?

I'm Very happy with my choices. I paint many different things and am currently building out several courses so I find that the brushes come in handy when I need to paint a particular way. I'll take a look and see if I can find that small rigger. Typically they make them special for sets.

Are their any good female artists who paint subjects other than flowers or pets?
