I did this and did okay. One time I had a bunch in the back porch and made the ultimate flea trap. I got cow blood from the butcher. Poured it in a bowl with just a drop of dish soap. Then took a yellow tinted light on a desk lamp with the bendable neck on it and shined it on the bowl. I caught literally hundreds and hundreds. Each time I did it. It sounds sick but that’s what fleas are looking for blood. Oh I forgot one thing. Add water to the blood or it will thicken up and dry out.. 3 parts blood 1 part water.

@@pathfinderpestcontrol study by the University of Florida says they are most attracted to yellow and orange or green tinted lights for some reason. They don’t know why but it has been proven in their studies. They actuality have college courses and degrees some of these guys take before becoming pest control business owners. That’s how I found out about the flea studies. My pest guy took part in that controlled experiment as part of his thesis. I came up with the blood thing though. I didn’t have a yellow or orange or green light. Although I improvised. I shined one of those flood lights through a Gatorade bottle containing yellow liquid……you don’t wanna know🤣🤣🤣🤣. It worked though.

This works but better to have a heat lamp. You really want to put it either where the hotspot is or on the floor anywhere. Use salt on your carpets too cause it helps with dehydrating the fleas and a humidifier and vacuum, vacuum, vacuum!! I even sprayed the floors with the dawn dish soap and that helped alot. It will take time but you will kill them all. You can bathe your pets in dawn dish soap as well. Get the flea comb from chewy cause it works Unbelievably good to get the fleas, the poop, the larvae, etc...off the pets and I brought tissue with me and a dish of dawn dish soap and water so i could get the fleas off the comb into the water and I got over 100 fleas at least the first time. I didn't even know my cat had fleas until i saw the itching that got worse and worse and I ordered everything and the comb was the best thing i bought. Be careful with their shampoos and waterless shampoo cause you absolutely have to watch your pet till they are dry or this stuff will get them sick. My kitty vomited for days and I stopped using it and your pet may stop walking on the floors all together and we aren't even infested. Yes my kitty had alot on after a few days of me noticing it but we're ok in the house. I comb him everyday and we got less and less fleas on him. This stuff for bathing is all natural as well. Be careful, please!!.

Flea spray From pet smart works wonders. Just spray it on and rub it in. Then wait a half hour then brush his/ her coat with a flea comb. Watch the little buggers get caught up, then repeatedly rinse the comb in hot soapy water. WOW. Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum. It's a lot of work...but it will pay off.

Use 1/10 as much soap - it will still work. Plus mix it in gently to spread it around. The idea is the fleas will not be able to float and will not be able to reach the edge to crawl out.

I just started living with my aunt long story short shes a cat person and has about 9 cats. They go Inside and outside. She has a 1 bedroom apartment so I'm in the bedroom that I have thoroughly cleaned and washed bedding plus door closed no cats come in here. The first week I was here I had gotten atleast 20 bites or so. My aunt who is in the other part of the apartment is either use to it or doesnt notice. She is aware the cats have fleas and treats them, but she never washes thier bedding and its clearly not working. I have tried these experiment last night and had my phone flash light on it throughout the whole entire night. I was excited to see the next morning. I literally found nothing in my plate of dish water and prolly a few more bites ontop this morning aswell. I've literally seen about 7 fleas on me at different times and it freaks me out. So what the heck I put this around my bed and got NOTHING so disappointing. In my old apartment someone brought in bed bugs and for a solid month only I got bit and no one else and my ex bf thought I was crazy. Until finally he got bit a few times. We cleaned the entire apartment, put plastic cups and wrapped duck tape so the sticky part was out and some other tricks. And than after a deep clean we laid out the diatermous (I forget the name but yall know) all over the apartment and throughout are deep clean we found 2 bugs and looked like a skeleton of a bug under the bed. We also through out our mattress and got a new one. And thank god after that no more bites or signs of bed bugs...these god damn fleas tho are pissing me off. Esp. Since I have baracadded and deep cleaned the bedroom I'm in and make sure no cats come In here I'm getting eaten alive while my aunt literally sleeps with 5 out of the 9 cats on her couch/bed in the other room. What the hell I was so hopeful. It's like the bed bug incident all over again. They itch just as bad and it's not just a bite I wake up with a few around my ankles and maybe a bit or 2 on my arm. The ankle ones itch the most. So I put the dawn soap on a plate around the bottom of the bed. My aunt deff has a flea problem esp. On the cats and I cant stand it, it skeeves me out and now I always feel like a bug is on me. I was so hopeful this would get rid of the ones that somehow get into the room where animals dont go. With the amount of bites on me and the amount of the fleas on the cats I thought I would wake up and find a bunch of these buggers. But nope. I even saw I guess a baby flea (soooo tiny) walking across the bathroom sink table. It's a small apartment too. I'm damn near ready about to lose my mind!

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I had a bad flea problem about a year ago because of my cats. I have a few suggestions: - Buy a flea spray for the home (If you can, try and get Indorex Defence Spray). You simply spray this all over the floors of the house/apartment. Before spraying these products though, ensure that you can reach all areas of the room, all animals are out the room being treated and that you vacuum the whole room before spraying. Follow the instructions of the household spray closely. - Vacuum everyday for the whole month, in EVERY room. Try and reach all parts of the room. If there is furniture that is too heavy too lift, spray and vacuum around it. After about a month of daily vacuuming, the flea population should go down. Ensure you dispose of the fleas appropriately to prevent them coming back into the home. - Ensure animals are treated regularly with flea drops or tablets. Flea collars are also good to use. Yes cats can be the cause of fleas (bringing them into the house). But the reason why most infestations remain is because people do not dedicate enough time to eliminating the fleas. Yes, you may kill the first wave of adult fleas, but they lay eggs EVERYWHERE and drop food them from hosts all the time. Vacuuming frequently and spraying protective sprays around your home is the best way to eliminate a flea infestation. It takes time, but is worth it in the end when YOU win the war. If you can, let me know how it goes regarding the treatment. I'll be happy to help with any questions and will try and check back!

It's not just the light, it's the heat that attracts the fleas. LED lights don't give off heat. Cities in areas that get snow and installed LED traffic lights realize their mistake. The snow doesn't melt on the lights the way traditional bulbs melt snow. Hopefully, your problem is now gone or you are in another place, one with no fleas.

No method is going to get rid of all fleas, especially at once. You'd need to do it a good few times to limit the numbers and if you have an infestation, then you should put multiple bowls around. It really depends on how many you have. If you don't have many it probably won't take long to limit numbers, but if you have a lot of fleas, then they are constantly laying more eggs so you should try loads of remides like salt on carpet, then hoover to kill eggs. The Bowl Trap. 1) Grab a bowl and fill it with water. The higher the water the better. 2) Add a fair amount of washing up liquid to the bowl so that the fleas can sink instantly and won't jump out. 3) Test for active areas where the most fleas are. These are usually places near heat/warmth. Set a light up over the bowl to get better results. Don't use LED lights as they don't give off/that much heat. 4) If you have a lot of fleas (or an infestation), you might want to set up more bowls for a better result. Other method for carpets 1) Sprinkle salt/or baking soda on your carpet. The more salt, the better for limiting eggs. Salt and baking soda can help kill and dry up flea eggs/dead bugs like ants and spiders. 2) Hoover to get the dead eggs/bugs out of the carpet. *Do these methods frequently to see results* Bathe your pets aswell so it limits numbers. Keep pets indoors more to limit flea transmission from other animals so it stops them from getting and giving fleas.
