Great video Jack. Most people that create this style of video ramble on for way too long or either lean into gimmicks or click bait or don't have solid ideas to contribute. These all felt short concise thoughtful and poignant. Reinforcing the basics and giving ppl a general direction when it comes to improving.

I am a 32 year old dad. I’ve played competitive sports most of my life between golf and hockey. I miss the competitive play. This game fills my competitive itch. And I feel like I’m playing a competitive sport. It makes me want to practice and play better every time I get on. I will never try to go pro obviously as this is a young man’s game. But I want to be good enough to atleast play gc3 level at some point. Since it came out free I’ve put almost 2k hours in. And am so close to pushing gc1. I’ve been riding c2 c3 for a few seasons now. Now I’m in the fine tuning stages of what I know and how I play. I love this game and for whatever reason everyday I just want to get on and grind and get better. Love watching all the pro play. Gl next season jack! Hopefully FK fits your team well.

Love it Jack. I hope you realize how much people respect and value your thoughts/opinions. I’d love to see more of these videos on any topic that you feel you’ve got some valuable insight into. Also remember how much of a role model you are for so many since everyone points to you for your thoughts. Encouraging healthy habits like drinking water and going to the gym and getting good sleep would be impactful. I love seeing that kind of stuff from creators, squishy and arsenal have done that a bit

5:05 as bruce lee said “i am not scared of the person who knows 10,000 kicks. But i am afraid of the person who knows one kick but has practices it for 10,000 times” in rocket league terms, be the person who is insanely good at 1 thing to the point you know what to do and how to do it in every situation because you will be a lot more unstoppable than if you know everything but have nothing as refined as that person that knows that one thing

Great video jack, honestly a great and helpful vid. I've done nothing but grind this game the last year and a bit while in college on the side, and im around c2 almost c3. My passion for this game is beyond anything else i have ever done, i would like nothing more than to go pro and be apart of the community fully, or just at least hit SSL. watching these vids and many RL streamers has been some thing that some how relaxes me, but also pushes me to get better at this game, and i truly believe i have the passion to become pro. at least some day. Very good video, Jack! And very well explained - I have a question though. I wonder if you can be too long in freeplay/training-packs, cause sometimes I can sit there for hours. Then when I start playing games, I just can't really focus. And I sense lack of gamesense. So I wonder if you feel that sometimes too, or if you have any idea. And good luck with your new roster. I'm exited, and I'll support you no matter what!

Almost 30 w/ full time job and school here. Play time is limited, but I can absolutely vouch for the warm up and slo mo tips. My warm up routine solidified a few months ago with freeplay at 85-90% for 15 ish minutes before I play a single game. Before the hard reset I was scraping C1, never hit it but always right there. After the hard reset I'm like 1 div below where I was. At first I was discouraged because I didn't see my rank reflecting my improvement. Then I played some cas with a guy that was C2-C3 and I was keeping up with no problem. Before my routine I would have been left in the dust, and then it hit me how valuable those were to improving. Long reply but TL;DR slow mo and warming up are HUGE tips! Thanks for posting Jack!

This video in my opinion helps to get a clue whats important to learn so i appreciate it. I also try to kinda copy some stuff you are doing in my playstyle and some of them helped a lot. but honestly my biggest problem at this momemt is to not know how to go on from here.. yeah practice sure is one point but i think i need like a mentor who can active tell me what to do and show me my mistakes.. perhaps learn some mechanics because i struggle a bit for example kickoffs like wavedash or speed or fastkickoff however they are called.. i kinda understand the how to but im somehow in many situations not able to use it.. well enogh writen.. thanks again bro

I love it though, double taps have always been satisfying to me, I may have horrible game sense and a wobbly speed kickoff, but I'm gonna hit my doubles 🙏🏾

12:23 I can actually understand that. I'm not too good at the game (Champ 1) but I remember when if first got the game I was stuck around silver/gold and I was not consistent at all. Watching pro play I remember redirects being something that really stood out to me. I would then practice it relentlessly. It took a few months to get consistent with, but I was spending maybe 1-2 hours just in custom training packs doing redirects. And it wasn't the redirects that got me better, but it was the better ball control, car control, aerial control, and power that I gained from trying to learn redirects that really launched my rank up. I started in 2020, and by the end of 2021 to early 2022, I was D2

The point about practicing what reaches out to you is a really important thing to mention and something I think some guides may fail to state. The reality is this is a video game. For all but the very very top, this is not a sustainable career path, this is something we do for fun. If you are going to carve out time to improve at something with so little life impact as a video game talent, then please, just focus on what you enjoy, don't force yourself to practice things you don't like and burn yourself out on the game you're investing so many hours practicing.

That slowmo thing worked wonders to me. Been doing it for a few months. I can feel that i've been playing faster and my mechanics are getting a lot better quickly

This was super helpful Jack thank you for this. I’m going to apply all of these to my game and hopefully finally hit SSL.

Captain England with the quality video on how to land on Gen.G with Chronic & Firstkilller as teammates. You don't become an NA superteam if you don't hold up your end of the bargain. Looking forward to how the team performs come the start of the new season!

Excellent video! Very much appreciated and its super refreshing to hear someone say they actually love the game. It seems like its "cool" to hate the game now and I've never understood it! Thanks again Jack!
