I was in Cancun for two weeks in September and it was absolutely beautiful. It was sunny every day, but each afternoon around 4-5pm there was a tropical downpour that would only last about an hour or so. It had no negative impact on the trip whatsoever. I actually highly prefer this time of year because it is much less crowded. You will have most beaches/cenotes/ruins/etc virtually to yourself.

You were lucky with weather. It was less crowded as you point out because the risk of rain that time of year is very high.

It’s a sauna in summer!! I remember it was horrible.. I also went in November and it was awesome

We’ve been before in February and the weather is perfect and less crowded.We just came back last week and we had cloudy and one day of rain but the weekend was hot and sunny

Hi, Nancy. I envy you. When we went in February, it was cold and windy. No one could swim in the sea. But it certainly wasn't crowded either. So I think some luck is involved.

We always go mid April. Have only seen rain 2 times in many trips and both times the rain lasted about 30 minutes then was gone and sunny again.

Yep, April is a great time to go to Cancun. it starts to get really hot by June and then rainy in the second half of the year.

How was it mid June..iam going in mid Jun r?

I went in late may early june and it was a mixture of sunny days and cloudy with the odd shower... and temp wise between 31-36ish.

I literally feel your pain. Got a tooth infection on St. Kitts and spent 3 days in agony before getting treated by 1 of 2 part-time dentists on the island. Congrats on becoming a published author!

I went in July.. the beach surface is not hot. The surface is mainly crush coral reef, which cools down fast.

Hi there! I just came across your video as I was looking into the weather in Cancun beginning of September. I am booking at one of the Xcaret hotel for week of September. Is this a bad decision or since it’s the beginning of September we should be ok? Curious what your thoughts are. Thanks!

82 Fahrenheit is 27 degrees Celsius which is plenty warm to enjoy the beach Especially as the sea is warm too.

Yes, 82 /27 in the middle of the afternoon on a sunny day is warm enough to enjoy time on the beach. Nighttime temperatures in the 60s chill water temperatures, especially in the mornings with strong winter trade winds.

August shows to be the hottest month per the charts in your video. However it seems to be in between for rain also... With kids in school, and busy front half of the summer, early August is going to be our best option. What are your thoughts on August in Cancun?

I dealt with the same issue when I had 3 kids in school. For August, I suggest going as early in the month as possible rather than later. The amount of rain in the Caribbean gradually gets worse during the summer and fall until reaching a high point in September and October. The same is true for Cancun. Rain is higher in August than July and much higher in September. So the risk of rain is lower in early August. But as usual, there are no certainties. It's all about the odds.

January usually has a low chance of rain, but I'm a little more concerned about the temperatures. They are sometimes chilly at night and bring down water temperatures, which matters if you like to spend time on the beach. Given a choice, I would wait and go in March or April.

I went in August and it was 32 degrees and it rained twice, all day and night but the rest of the 2 weeks was sunny, I'm going again for 21 days I just want to go at the hottest month with no rain

emilys creations world we like Aug as well and go almost every year in both Aug and Dec. We always see more rain in Dec and also it does get cool in Dec. Either way its a great time!

How's the seaweed situation in March? I'm looking at different hotels and I'm afraid we won't be able to enjoy the beach. I know there's other things to do. We went to Playa Maroma in January 2022 and it was beautiful!

We have been there in February and did not enjoy the chilly water and strong trade winds. We also have been there during the summer and did not have a problem with seaweed. That said, our February was cooler than normal, and we may have been lucky with seaweed. If you enjoy swimming as much as I do, I would go during June. If you prefer land activities more, I suggest February.

I'm going to go in February. I really don't like overly warm weather.

Hi, Selena. If Cancun weather in June is about average, the daytime temperatures will be hot -- about 91 Fahrenheit or 33 Celsius. That sounds like good beach weather to me. It also rains more than usual in June than February through May. That average rainfall is about one out of every three days. Good luck with your trip!

Hello, Alfredo. July is the second hottest month of the year. The risk of rain is slightly above average. So it's a pretty good month to go if you want hot weather and like to spend time on the beaches.

We have not had a problem with it when we have gone there. Sometimes there are patches of it in the water, but we simply moved to another spot without it.

Out of all of my trips through the Caribbean, I can say that only one had bad weather all week. We dealt with it by coming up with new ways of making it worthwhile. The odds are good that you'll have at least have some decent days of weather. Good luck!

April historically has the lowest rainfall of any month of the year. There are no guarantees of course, but your odds of good weather are very high.

SNKCHARLIE holiday was amazing. 29 degrees everyday from 1st April-11th. Excursions are very expensive but you get what you pay for as they was amazing. Done Xplor and swam with dolphins. All the locals are so nice and welcoming, coco bongo is a big con and was SO Busy. Could not even clap my hands as was so busy.

We didn't go in January, but we did go in February. I was surprised at the lack of people. The seawater was too chilly for swimming, although we may have gone during a bad week for weather. The average high temperature in January is 82 degrees Fahrenheit; the average low is 69. Historically, it rains more than 5 inches, which is a bit higher than normal.

Hi! I was just in Cancun last month, January 19-26. In the last two days, it rained, and one of my tours got cancelled twice. It was a bummer, and I wasn't happy about it. Visit my channel because I have videos from Cancun as well :)

I would like to go to Cancun but my wife refuses because almost all reviews we read mention rowdy/noisy drunks who are encouraged to drink copious amounts of alcohol. Can anyone tell me if there are times or places that this can be avoided?

We have been there 3 times without any problems. It all comes down to when you go. March is a terrible time because of college kids on spring break. Try going in February or April. April of course is warmer.

No, it's not hot every time. It is mostly hot from late spring through early fall. Daytime winter temperatures may drop into the 70s Fahrenheit, which sounds warm enough. But strong trade winds sometimes make temperatures feel cooler. No one could swim during our February visit.

I'm going with 30 years of stats from Mexico's government meteorology service. Those are hard facts. I would never go with just my personal experience because it depends too much on luck with the weather. That said, there is one reason why I MIGHT go in September and October. Because prices are way down -- thanks to a huge risk of rain. But I would only book at the last minute and after I saw a good weather forecast for the next 10 days.

Abosulute nonsense, its not that simple, weather varies, there's no bad time to go, October is fine it doesn't rain constantly like suggested, there's plenty of sun ☀short bursts of rain, nothing to ruin your holiday and it's still hot. It's not black and white like this silly video

Sorry, I don't agree. The numbers are historical facts from the Mexican government weather service. My own visits found the same thing. The Caribbean hurricane season brings a lot of rain to Cancun during the fall. Tourism takes a big drop as a result. Winter water temperatures are cooler because of lower nighttime air temperatures. Summers are hot and humid.
