Best Taekwondo Knockouts KO | Professionals vs Beginners

There is no doubt that Taekwondo is a martial art that is devoted to strength and speed. Combining these two elements can result in a hit, if unavoidable, that can lead to the recipient seeing stars. In this video, I will show you 15 occasions, where fighters wished they dodged the strike.

I feel like you should think more positively, main focus of martial arts is to master your mentality, and you have failed that. But im willing to tell you something, what you took you should savor, You should admire the opponent’s mastery and follow a path like him. im not saying injury is an excuse, its a serious thing, but if anything, being hurt in martial arts is a definitely something you have to get used to and recovery is something you should also savor because it feels so good to lay on your bed knowing your team is training so hard while you get to rest XD “Its not about how hard you can hit, its about how hard you can Get hit, And still get up” -rocky

Self-defense should be a basic skill just like math, reading and writing. Jiu Jitsu is promoted as the ultimate self-defense system, but this is what Jiu Jitsu looks like against a striker and kicker (and if there are two guys against you, you're instantly doomed! The other guy will just kick you in the head while you're trying to cuddle his friend): How Kazushi Sakuraba Destroyed the Gracie Clan m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/q56Kr5Oegra2nKg.html I've learned that the US Military and Secret Service, and even Israel, the home of Krav Maga, are learning Systema (which is a combat system tested and proven by the Russian Special Forces for survival during war times, unlike Jiu Jitsu, Taekwondo, MMA and other sport martial arts, which are not only exclusively for one-on-one, but also don't train against weapons). I wish Systema were taught in schools (starting from kindergarten) instead of useless P.E. If everyone were skilled in self-defense, there would be less assaults, kidnappings and rapes because evil-minded people would hesitate to attack anyone, knowing they'll be in for a real fight, battling for their own lives. Here's a link about Systema: marylandsystema.com/systema-russian-martial-arts-is-one-of-the-secret-services-strongest-weapons/

Blocking was a HUGE part of my class. We would actually do blocking exercises with the instructor trying to hit us with a foam stick. Most of these knockouts could have been avoided if they didn't have their arms at their sides while fighting.

If you look closely it's the same type of movement as the one done by aaron cook at number 9. The only difference is aaron's first kick didn't anchor off of Steven Lopez's shoulder like in the number 13 clip.

That is kind of wrong. For one, one of the strongest kicks in Taekwondo is the back kick. Said kick is not easily blocked, because it goes for your gut instead of your chest. You will have to actively lower your arms to block the kick, instead of just guarding in front of your chest. This will also make you vulnerable for a kick to the head, which is basically most of the kicks you learn in taekwondo. So you either choose to get the wind knocked out of you and vulnerable for a second blow, or you block it successfully and get hit by the upcoming blow on the head. Or they’re an ITF taekwondo practitioner, and you get pummeled.

@@keaponlaffin6737 Please explain why learning how to kick is useless on the streets. I'm not claiming it's gonna be useful in every situation, but claiming it's useless seems just as much of a stretch to me. Also, how do you define "real fighting"? If by that you mean a street fight, then there's not a single martial art that teaches real fighting according to you. All the martial arts that have rules or restrictions (boxing, Muay Thai, Judo, Taekwondo,...) are not designed to fight on the streets. That doesn't mean their techniques can not be useful in certain situations though.

As a result, I only kicked when sparring, so my kicks were super developed. Aaron Cooks' and the "Bizzare Kick" are actually the same idea. Foot is hung-up on the opponent's shoulder - what do you do? Punch to the chest will only get you point and is undecisive. So you use your only foot to kick into the opponent's head. As you do this, pull down on the leg that's hung-up as the counter-weight (counter-balance). This has the effect of pulling the opponent's head directly into your kick. As I recall, in TKD, there's no trapping of feet using hands allowed. But in other mixed martial arts, there is. When your foot gets trapped by hand, can also attempt this same technique. Since both of their hands are busy grabbing your one foot, they don't have a free hand anymore to block/check your kick.

To be honest, i fell in love with the sport once i watched one of the matches in tv. Coincidentally, me friend just joined one of the taekwondo’s club and invited me to join the club. Till this time, i was traumatized because the teacher kicked me in the stomach with full power. Yes, i wear protection, but i was 15 at that time and receive a full powered kick in the stomach and i only joined for less than a month. Immediately i fell to the ground and felt like my stomach was trying to come out from my mouth. Since that day, i reluctantly went to 2-3 more classes, and i decided to stop the lessons. Thinking back on it, if the teacher was “demonstrating” the dollyo chagi to me, a mere amateur without full power, i might still continue to train. But for me, who just went to train for less than a month with full power and did not expected the full power of dan 3 teacher kick, traumatized me to this day. But i still love to watch the games from tv and from youtube

If anyone wonders why they don't keep their hands up, it's all about the rule. In a TKD match you are not allowed to punch the head, there is no immidiate threat to your face. Yes, they kick fast, but jabs are always faster, an experienced fighter can usually see the kick coming and move out of the way, which is better than blocking. Keep your hands down makes you more relaxed, move faster, kick better, save your energy (if you have even be in a fight, you will know how exhausting it is to keep your hands up), under the circumastence that you know you won't get a puch in the face. That's why you see in TKD matches the fights keep their hands on the side and jumping around, which looks kind of funny. Under less restricted rules like MMA, fighters usually prefer punching and grappling because they are just easier and less risky than kicking. Under that circumastence it will be much harder to land those kicks because they always have their gaurd up. This is how unrealistic rule can make unrealistic fights, once you throw in rules, it's a match, it's not self defence anymore. I believe if these fighters are caught in a street fight, they will all start punching each other and keep their guard up, the last thing they will think about is a spinning kick.

2:52 could anyone tell me why an entire tournament is being held on a solid hard surface? Surely that could really fuck someone up

tournaments are big and often have 10+ rungs going at once in a gymnasium or something. There's just no way to either have that many portable mats or to afford having a dojo with a mat that huge

Mine are held on surfaces like that. The gear dosent look it, but is extremely padded. There have been no serious injury. Though my mouth did bleed once

Had a tournament on a wooden floor once. During round two, my opponent looked redder and redder. Turns out I had abraded the skin of both my big toes (doing shuffles) and with each kick, sprayed blood onto my opponent. Was send to first aide but lost the match because I wasn't back in time (it was treated as a equipment malfunction......).
