It was in Chembur, when as a kid I came to know that pani puri exists in square shape and also is served chilled that too with boondi. This was in Sindhi Camp area. It was around in 1990 when by the way there was no internet. To figure out a unique place was something really amazing. I have to credit Sindhis for changing my outlook towards street food. Before that I used to eat street food of course, but they opened my mind to creativity in street food.

The best place.
Gupta Bhelpuri wasn't included. It's almost 60-70 years old Bhelpuri centre outside Chembur railway station east. Also Chembur camp area is far from Chembur station. One can reach Chembur Camp by taking BEST bus nos. 430 or 381 from Chembur fine arts bus stop ( near Chembur station) or from Ghatkopar station east.

Dude sorry... Hear from a true Misal lover.... It scores 1 out of 10. I've had Misal all over Maharashtra and then saying this. Just not worth the bother. Instead go to Mamledar in Chembur. Else thane is the best place. In Mumbai there are no joints which really offer a great Misal.... That is when you've tasted it in Satara, Kolhapur and in Nashik

My beloved Chembur ❤️ Spent more than 25 years growing here, relishing all the delicacies, from having dal pakwaan for 10rs then to having today for 100rs. We used to travel from Panvel to Chembur on Sunday mornings just to have dal pakwaan 😋 Now in Toronto, waiting for the day we go back home to have all these 😇 Definitely these are the few best food joints to be named among many. Don't forget to complete your meal with Sai Sagar's falooda 😍 Pani puri, dahi puri, ganne ka ras opposite Inlaks hospital, Ladda patties, late night idli vada, Santoshi mata dosa in market and so many... Beautiful memories of childhood 💕

I hate unhygenic chembur food exposed to dust smoke flies on rd side tawas of jhama, satu, vij etc with pigs roaming around their backside awful sight in rains
Is it too hard for them to maintain hygiene by just wearing a pair of gloves? The food looks great , but their hands look so untidy. 😡
