The Queen Victoria Market is a major landmark in the central business district of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Covering over seven hectares, it is the largest open air market in the Southern Hemisphere. Also known affectionately as ‘Vic Market’ or ‘Queen Vic’, the Queen Victoria Market is a historic landmark spread over two city blocks, a vibrant and bustling inner-city market where you can shop at over 600 small businesses for everything from Australian fruit and vegetables, local and imported gourmet foods, clothing and souvenirs."

The food truck at Victoria Night Market is expensive. Queuing to spend 30 dollar for food on paper plate. Never again.
Well, My household went along last night...! Carnage frankly. More then half of the businesses featured did not turn up at all. It was all basic variations of asian and Indian food. Which I do love, but these are better and cheaper in Springvale & Clayton. The place had several thousands people (Screaming kids included) and of course as there where only maybe 10 -15 stalls running it was anarchy and the queues where hundreds deep (with screaming kids). There was no order to lining up and people where openly short and at times very rude. The only food provider that run quickly was the one selling BBQ pork, chicken or seafood in wonton shell like tacos...! Sadly they where going through their stock so quickly the meats where broiled rather then BBQ-ed. So not really pleasant at all! It was rather sad as we had watched this presentation a few times and asked friends to come along... We all landed up in Elizabeth Street eating burgers and chips as most had not eaten at all. There was also a total shortage of seating and of course what their was, was monopolised by families that have no awareness that others might want to sit and eat as well? This is typical anywhere, And none of us could believe how late parents had these little darlings out of bed... Shocking frankly, it was like the CASINO car park! But made it worse last night. The stall holders should bring long some fold out trestle tables and chairs. I work in hospitality and this event would have been noted as a disaster. I write this review as many others will go to this and thing they will get what is shown in the KZread "Brochure", they wont. Sadly we came a long way on the train and it was an expensive waste of time. Sorry if this stings, but truth is best. Love markets and often go to them, but this is simply does not work. I was going to have Cypriot skewers, followed by Paella, then desert! NOPE!
Australi very clean.Food clean inspector controlling all the time.

Thanks for coming Karol 😊
Food looks great but ive noticed alot of poor food handling skills. The lady making paella touched her long hair with her gloves, then touched money and then touched the pan. Disgusting. Alot of the vendors are touching money with their gloves without changing them and then handling food. No thanks won't be eating anything from queen vic market ewwww
Sadly its a noisy, smelly place, very expensive and often overcrowded. I was amazed at the poor choices that mostly overweight people made. Some of the tucker is nice, if you can afford it. We spent well over $250 feeding four, we won't do that again! 😂
