I love flying the Curse and Pilgrim (unsure which one I enjoy more, as they're both good), and it's great fun to use the e-war distance buffs on these two classes of cruisers to neut/scram/jam/web/destroy unsuspecting wormhole dwellers. Anything larger is fairly difficult to roll around while remaining both highly mobile and undetected, and anything smaller has tended to be a bit too squishy or require getting too close. These cruisers are a great middle ground and quite a bit easier to replace than T3 models.

That's because he only has PVE fits saved. I assume he would take Neuts into PvP. The Curse is expensive and scary to lose :P I don't blame him for not taking them into solo PvP very often. Though as he said, it would be excellent at it.

@@FateFormedd He is wrong, a solo Curse, thanks to its price, would attract a gang to gank it faster than you can say T2 Medium Energy neut. All the combat and force recons would suffer the same fate if caught solo in nulsec. Use a Legion for solo PvP, you may stand a chance at GTFO when the local's T1 gang arrives to end you.

Yonks ago I was with a corp doing small time mining/pos operations in low sec. There was a guy who would come by in his curse and scare the shit out of the newish guys. We eventually got him, then he showed up the next day in a pilgrim.

I remember back in the day, I used to fit a BS energy neut on a curse and I was able to drain at like 60k out, and I would be able to drain someone in a singe cycle, buuuuuut I had to have someone with me because I was paper thin

I'm not sure why you would use a curse in this way. An Arbitrator will do virtually the exact same thing in all respects but for a tiny fraction of the cost. If you're using this ship for PvE, d-scan immunity is not worth the value you are assigning it. As a hunter I would be able to see you in local and a d-scan in the correct direction will show a mounting number of wrecks which will give away the activity in your direction. D-scan immunity is no substitute for knowing how to avoid an engagement you don't want to take. If you're using d-scan immunity for its stealth component then you're sabotaging that by creating wrecks at your location, you'd be better off just using a cloak, cov ops in particular. I used to run level 5s in low sec in a cruise missile Golem and zero fear. Most of the gated missions prevented capitals getting into the site and since I made liberal use of ASBs, passive shield mods and the MJD bonus for marauders I was able to survive long enough to distance tank the rats and abuse my range advantage. My primary defense was the mission itself, because about 1m12s after landing in the mission I was 200km off from where the acceleration gate puts new arrivals. That means a giant battery of sentries, webbing and neut towers were waiting for my would-be assailant with nothing to do. I was set up to survive that initial barrage and get to range, without cap, and in spite of being webbed down to 4m/s. The random Cynabal pilot that comes in for tackle on me...not so much. I was never even able to get on the loss mails of my would be assailants because their deaths were always so quick and Golems are not known for their lock speed. Point is I was spending about 4 times what this curse costs, but my ISK per hour was probably much more than 4 times as much with more than triple the damage and I was in less danger because my strategy for staying alive did not depend on not being found. If an invader survives long enough for me to lock him then on top of everything else he now will have to deal with my Golem spitting 1100 dps at him from 200km while being tagged by a bonused painter and under heavy webs and neuting pressure from the towers I didn't kill. Good luck, my dude. Even if you can somehow tank all that, I have that 200+ km distance you have to cross to complete my bastion cycle, align, MJD (if needed) and warp out.

Love cruiser class. Back in the day I used alot of Legion and pilgrim for either solo or small gank fleet ops in low or null roaming. Pilgrim or curse solo u play like a cloaky shark in the water. Sneak up on a battleship and scram him. Watch your pret scream in local as yr under his guns missing while he watches in horror as yr drones chew him a slow death.

Not often someone talks for nearly 8 minutes and says absolutely nothing.

If you want a cloaked miner I'd go for a prospect with the covert ops cloak fitted

the times i played eve a curse or pilgrim was around 120 to 150 mill isk, how the prices have inflated

I don't play much anymore other than to log in and chat. Been playing on and off since 2007. Curse is by far my favorite ship right next to the Stratios. I personally prefer the Stratios over the Curse. On my solo ships, I usually also opt for the maximum amount of Warp Speed Rigs but that's just me. I do NOT recommend that style of flying unless one has a lot of experience in game. I prefer the Warp Speed Rigs due to their ability to make Cruisers be able to be Much faster in traveling than they are supposed to be. (I'm pretty sure my Stratios could out-warp Anything besides a shuttle and an Interceptor, and interceptors were of little concern most of the time) I personally found the Recon ships to be too clunky for my style of play however their bonuses are incredibly strong. If I bother to re-sub an Omega account, Xzar Fyrarr if you want to duo Recon / Stratios some time If not, I sometime log in to Alpha to chat o7

Also one more thing, NEVER FIT MINING LASERS OR GAS HARVESTERS ON FORCE RECON! Im not trying to be elitist here but there are a ton of ships that you can use that will work for resource gathering, recon ships are not that ship. Force recon ships has racial bonuses that make them what they are good at. Please look into them further to see what they are. They are; ultra long point, stupid webs, hard newts, and heavy ecm. These ships are force multipliers, yeah sure u can solo but ur a soft target but you shine in a gang. If your going to fly in low sec doing missions this is not a mission ship. Fit a little more buff for pvp. Its not a dps ship. Fly the legion or even better the tengu. Yeah you can be seen in dscan but so can they. You will be much harder to kill, small gangs you can step on if they try anything, and your able to tank way more. Faction complexes are different, and honestly faction complexes are best run imho with friends. Keep trying, and keep making content! Fly dangerous o7

hopefully your still active. i play alone. havnt played in ages. i love to chill and mine with a beer. my dream is these three ships running 3 windows ofc. just for example, to start. Orca. and then Protection. later Orca, Miner, Protection. is that possible? to start atm i ll be doing miner with protection ship. but later, is it possible to fit the orca to go invisible? or any ship to do that? if not then man im going to have a tough time protecting my miners and orca , as i know how to mine but shit at pvp.

Where are you planning on mining? In high sec the only problems you will have really are the odd NPC and maybe gankers. The npc's are easy to deal with using a couple of combat drones. Gankers can be tricky, keep a nice tank on your ship and pay attention to who's coming in and out of the belts. In null you will need more than one protection ship. Best joining a mining corp with active players in null as they will be able to protect you from and offer Intel ect for hostile fleets in the area

hay, I could probably link the fit but it will be completely outdated and with the modual changes and rebalances I am unsure if it will actually fit on the hull any more. I will have a play around with fits and see if I can redo this video to kep it fresh :)

Hay Samuel, Unfortunately Free players cannot use the recon ship class or covert cloaks so picking a ship for free players which is similar to this is kinda hard. what is it you enjoy doing I could maybe let you know what ships I would typically use?

Owned a covert ops proteus in this ship in J space. He thought he could solo me but i shut his ass down with hard newts. 750mil kill mail. Had to call in friends to finish him off as my drones just were not doing it in a reasonable amount of time. Still, great ship if you fit it right. *looks at disowned hero with a critical eye*

What if i wanna solo... and just explore new eden. A fastish, agile-ish, cloaky ship that says - 'hey, I'm a tourist'. ?

Title should read: Hisec carebear theorycrafting T2 recons, use at own risk. You just do not use recons to mine or rat, they are terrible at both, and as your fits demonstrate, contrary to what your mind is telling you, don't have a great tank. These are not solo boats for PvP, any half-competent nulsec gang will likely bait and kill a single T2 recon with no more than T2 frigs and T1 cruisers even if Lord Maldoror or Imperian were its pilot. Lasers on a Curse... I don't even.. just don't do it. Recons are force multipliers, not solo boats. Take a small cruiser/BC gang with a curse/pilgrim and try killing a solo ratting carrier instead. I recently watched a video of yours which I found useful, and this showed up in my stream. I have to tell you, that this is patently bad information unlike your only other video that I've seen. Research some more before dishing out advice and you may grow to be a decent channel. Preface your vids indicating the fact that you have not used these fits in PvP or link your killboard. Bad advice here folks, ignore it and move along.

As a very new player I was curious about this vid suggestions straight off. To me, he declares solo and the one thing nearly all his suggestions are, is cant be d scanned. So hes leaning towards super safety for sure. Nice to see both sides of this, I do believe he has use here, but not for main stream game play.

It's not all about dps. You neuter out your enemy so no more incoming fire or at the very least there extremely compromised and even 300 dps becomes more than enough
