The Huawie P40 Pro uses Sonys RYYB sensor, instead of traditional RGB, it sacrifices colour correction for better low light performance. Put a small mirror near the lens LOL WTF!

Nice video as always. I can advice you about "pro" things in video mode, check also the Sony Xperia 1 Mark II, for a smartphone there is a lot in the app for video creators. I am with P40 pro plus, and very happy with it, but since i use a camera from Sony I kind of like the company. Next year i think to get the Xperia 1 mark III. There is a pro app for the camera, that allow you to change a lot of settings.

The Olympus continues to be the best overall vlogging camera you have ever used. Stable, focuses, color are all top notch

Hahaha a gh1 kills current phones. They're still a looong way from competing in this space. Better? Yes. Good? No.

Try more 1080P 960 FPS stuff! Would love to see that since it has better quality than the 7,680 FPS at 720P plus it’s not interpolated like in the 7,680 FPS mode. I think it can do max 1,920 FPS at 720P without interpolation so it’s real frames.

First off, I would like to say that your vids are super interesting and funny. (?) This video brings up some interesting questions. One of the major items a DSLR style camera brings is its grip. Holding a 'phone' is not even the same while not on a selfie sticky thing. But video and photo wise it does bring much to the table. Hey. You should try the Zenfone 7 Pro. It has a flip up camera, beter image quality than P40 Pro and better dynamic range. Had them both and I am blown away by this smartphone. 4K 120fps, flip up camera so I can see myself, 8K video with very good autofocus and stabilization, no Samsung over the top colors and the night mode is almost as good as Huawei.

You may have gotten a response on the mic, but just in case, the Deity v.lav might work. There is an incomplete compatibility list in their website and some older models of phones are listed there; no guarantees that the new ones will also work but there’s a chance , and it is a $50 mic (newer iPhones are OK).

Will be interesting to see how the 1" sensor p50pro performs when it's released

I have the Poco X3 NFC (no (e)ffing clue) saves me going out with a camera bag, it's made me lazy and fat, my back doesn't hurt. Image wise okay, until the deep pixel peeping urge kicks in. One day very soon the pocket phone will replace everything known to man.

You can fix a lot of those annoyances with third-party apps like mcpro24fps on Android. Full control over sharpness, noise reduction, bit rate (up to 500mbbs), frame rates, bit-depth (8-bit, or 10-bit), log profiles, e.t.c. You can even shoot full sensor. So much potential.

You may want to try the Sony Xperia 1ii or 5ii, they both shoot up to 4K60 in 10bit .. although the stabilization is not that good Also, did you try the Insta One R ?! ... you could use the 1inch sensor for regular vlog and then switch to the 360 camera for crossing the street.

You should try the Asus ZenFone 7 Pro, the 3 rear cameras flip up so they can also be used as the front cameras. It has 8k 30 and all kinds of insane specs and one of the best DXO mark scores, for what thats worth. I have a Pixel 5 and wished I would have known about the Asus phone.

I had the p40 pro, amazing phone soo far. Worth the prize especially the camera and video quality 😊

The phone stabilization is like action-cam stabilization -- the background is rock solid, but you are bobbing around. The camera stabilization is a better compromise between stabilizing you and the background....

You could work around the over sharpening and over saturation by using a non native app.

I've been interested in getting the Canon 6D mark 11 for a while and after getting the Huawei p40pro smartphone recently I've thought I don't need the Canon dslr now because I've been so impressed with Huawei p40pro so I'm not getting dslr. Huawei are better than Canon and it shows. My first Huawei phone was the excellent p20. P20 was fantastic in extremely low light. P20 was impressive and its still so good. Huawei p50pro will be awesome and dslrs are now dying as smartphone cameras are improving all the time. Huawei p40pro can do professional photography now. Long live Huawei!!!

Only good thing about him waiting is that DJI is having a hard time correcting some of the bugs (2 months since a firmware update). Plus there are missing functionality like HDR video.

Lol that slow Mo 7290 fps. If you took a still photo I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Great camera though. I'm rooting for these compact lil phones to catch up.

Considering price to performance... that's impressive. More so, if it's a good phone. Yeah, the bitrate and sensor size has it's fallbacks; but, what you're getting from that little thing... If as many people bought cameras as we buy phones, we might see these jumps in quality and innovation in cameras.

You could put the Sony Xperia 1 II to a test. Claims to have some serious codecs, colors build in from Cine Alta series from Sony.

You obviously have to shoot an entire supercut of 7680p footage while street crossing, backed by some avante garde, William Basinski style ambient music. Also...I know you have your hands full, but you should make some music making videos some time!

Prefer when you try a camera that you actually review the footage at home and then comment, all in the same video. Seems incomplete with just recording and talking. Good video today

m43 for vlogging really is being replaced toneh wise by smartphone, apsc is minimum for vlogging hobo. otherwise just buy the newest iphone and still looks great with tons of dynamic range

Have you ever tried LGs "V" series of smartphones? They are praised for their manual video mode.

Been rocking the LG V20 for three years now. The only problem is that it's been laggy ever since I've updated the phone's firmware last year.

Huawei camera are great, I've a Mate 20 pro and my wife has the P40. The super slomo is too still, good old 120 or 240fps still usable. The real problem with any Huawei phone is that there is no Google store support... and not available in the US.

That go pro stabilization looks terrible, you bounce around while the background is still, almost looks like a green screen.

you know whats gonna happen when he is stable, the background is gonna be shaky as hell, can't have it both ways.

You should try using mcpro24fps with your P40 - you will get 10 bit, log profile, histogram, false color, minimum sharpening and noise reduction and of course.. 24fps :) Great app!

Few have survived the charge of the North American Black Squirrel, it must have taken nerves of steel to stand your ground an continue capturing this one in a lifetime event.

Still got my #huaweip40pro for slowmo alone. Can’t believe what could have been…. If you ever find anything better please make a video.

I'm not keen on using phones for video. They usually have variable frame rate. Same with cheap action cameras. Hard to edit, and doesn't look right anyway. If this has constant frame rate then maybe.

Nothing can beat the Olympus.

Dude you gotta try out the iPhone 12 Pro Max, the sensor is as huge as that P40 Pro so there is a natural background blur at that distance from your face, the file is 10bit in HDR Dolby Vision mode in 85mbps HEVC, and for some computational magic its really clean in moderate light. Pretty friggin amazing.

This has a Sony 50Mp 1/1.28", 1.22µm, RYYB sensor, f1.9 23mm Leica lens. Apple has a 12 MP, f/1.6, 26mm (wide), 1.7µm. Actually that would be a good comparison test!

I know we are supposed to hate huawei but they make good phones. I had mine for 2 years and probably the least troublesome phone I ever had.

Very impressive P40! Didn't match the Olympus! Pro was pretty good with nice audio but functionality of a phone beats it. Just a glimpse of modern chipset & processing coming to cameras soon!
